Feel free to give it away.
As you have correctly read before, there were rules about it, preventing people from creating games that were included in a bundle, now things have changed, since such regulations were only generating more questions than answers.
If you give away the whole bundle in a single gift, i think you won't "lose" contributor value (hence the rule before, games alone were more expensive in the site than the bundle itself, thus making people give away the games alone and boosting their contributor value), but if you feel like giving more chances of winning to people, or not forcing everyone to enter a bundle just for a single game, feel free to give the games individually.
It's good to see you've actually read the rules and asked around, welcome.

Do you mean by bundles indie bundles (Humble Bundle, Indie Gala, etc.)? In the ToS of most bundles it's forbidden to give the keys away (but nobody cares :() And you can only give a bundle away that you have bought as a gift and you send then the link to the winner (you can't buy yourself a bundle and give only the keys or the DRM-free games away). And the asterisk just marks it as a bundle game for the contributor value.
PS: I'm happy that you read the rules ;)

Thanks both of you guys, I'm very glad somebody answered my question (I have the feeling it's for the first time in my life :-D ). It's IndieGala Bundle, but the one where there is only one Steam-redeemable game, so it doesn't matter it I give away the game or a bundle. I don't care about the contributor value, just want somebody to have an opportunity to play a game (s)he likes, because I wouldn't play it.
I think giving this one away as a single game makes more sense, so here we go, I'm going for my first giveaway :) Feel free to sign up ;)

Hi everyone,
TL;DR: Any rules about bundles? Can I give the Steam game alone?
I'm trying to create my first giveaway, so I'm reading all the rules, guidelines, policies and stuff and I'm trying not to be a douchebag about it.
I remember there was a rule about bundles, that they cannot be separated and so on. So I went a read the guidelines and the section disappeared. It is in the list of sections, however. Never mind, I said to myself, thinking that someone just forgot to remove the section name from the list, and I started creating the giveaway.
I selected the bundle and the number of games is equal to all the steam games plus all the DRM free games... What the heck? How am I supposed to giveaway a DRM free game on "SteamGifts"? Just send a link? OK, I'll have a look in the guidelines, it's gotta be there right? Wrooong! :-/
Screw this, I thought, I'll giveaway the Steam game, like all the others do, even if it is part of the bundle. I don't care. I select the game and there is freaking asterisk next to it and it isn't explained anywhere. To be very very polite, I can only say I'm puzzled.
Don't get me wrong, I think this portal (web page, Steam network, whatever you want to call it) is great, and it's the reason I want to play by the rules and don't be a douche. If someone created this and wrote the rules, they probably had a reason for those, but how am I supposed to obey them when it's so unclear?
No clear answer for few hours/days => I'm giving it away somehow, I don't care.
