Just buy it on other site that sell it then xD.. its not an obligation that it must be on steam :)

You want the game, and they know you don't have a lot of places to go. They can set whatever they want, and the only way you can do something about it is find someone else with a tradable copy.
Unless there are sites which sell keys anyway.

That's how collections work. I collect some rare games, and would you believe some Gamecube or PS2 or even Gameboy Advance games can go for over 60 dollars? I sold Castlevania Aria of Sorrow for a good 60 bucks, and the original Disgaea was worth 80 at one point.

I had Saw on xbox, and I can tell you one thing. Steam or not, I'd rather take a dried piece of nasty turd over a copy of that game, for eating purposes. Believe me, you don't want it.
And this pricing thing is also ridicoulous. I was only looking for Second Sight on ST without any kind of success (nobody had it), and since the game was originally 5 euros I thought I had a chance for a good trade, yet the only people that ever replied to me kept pointing to the fact that I'd need something worth far more than the original price to get it. So I decided to get it for a playstation 2 again, once I get a working one. Because it's 3 bucks in the bargain bin for that. And because I get a fucking box and manual with it.

The only reason you feel this was important enough to write a thread about is because you really want it on steam, but it is very rare. So it is worth $60. I understand you do not want to pay that much, and that the game itself it not worth that much, but the rarity means that some people will pay that much.
Hell in a dozen years it quite possibly will be worth many times that.

maybe they add it back for sale. this has already happened with 2 games.
the game is crap though torrent it, play it till board (about less than 1 hour), delete it and than got you where smart enuff not to have wasted $60 on that shit. get your friend a good game.

Depends GREATLY on the game in question. Some games, like say Prey, have cheap and abundant CD keys that register on Steam and as such have no real value. Games like say Neverwinter Nights Platinum that you can ONLY get on your steam account by getting a tradable copy do indeed go for rather insane amount of money.
That being said, I don't know what SAW goes for exactly as I did a giveaway with my spare copy although the longer it stays removed from the steam the more the price will likely go up.

wanted to buy SAW, game that already not available on Steam (no idea because they took him out)
I contacted someone who had it in their inventory to try to trade ... But when asked about the value, I said that $ 60 dollars ... because it is not on Steam
Oh GOD! is seriously? for SAW? $60 dolars? so I did what anyone would have done it, so remove Steam and goodbye
Now, a game that removed steam (game that is not the big thing) and they have some person, can cost around $60 dollars?
Seriously, 60 dollars, a stupidity
