Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth ... that got me into Point and Click games in the first place.

In recent memory, I really liked The Dream machine.

Thats odd, i read in a gaming magazine that they listened to the players and fixed everything that was wrong, so i can't be the only one thinking that :) The second one is just simply funnier for me i guess. Also i can't get enough of the silly songs they put ingame

I think quest was used to refer to games like Space Quest and King's Quest, by Sierra. Then the genre of quest, was taken over when Myst came out by Myst clones, and they started calling games quest that were nothing but puzzle games with puzzles that did not make any sense or fit in with the story. So they came up with Point and Click to refer to games, that were adventure games, where you interacted with objects on the screen, and did inventory puzzles. To seperate them from games like Myst, that were more puzzle games.

Back in the day I played Putt Putt like a boss, that museum madness and the yukon trail all ate my childhood on 3.5" floppy. Recently Deponia was nice as well was Analogue(albiet less of a point and click than a novel). I've been wanting to play The Longest Journey ever since my run in with Dreamfall on the original Xbox.

Loved Botanicula and Machinarium, I also enjoyed Puzzle Agent though I am not really sure if that counts.

The Last Express, with Full Throttle right behind.
If you really want to know, here is my Top 10 Adventure Games.

I've never heard of The Last Express, but I'll have to give it a shot. Looks like its only available on Big Fish Games (if that's the same one).
I hadn't really thought to consider Heavy Rain to be in the same genre, but it is very much a modern, big-budget take on an old genre.

The Last Express is by far the most amazing adventure game. If you happen to like the way it works, you'll love it. The link I shared is the best way to play it now, and probably the cheapest.
