...wait....What? EA....Indie....Bundle?
O_O
Guys I think the whole bundle idea is officially dead and meaningless now.

Ahh I see...makes kinda sorta sense then I suppose.

Not really an oxymoron at all, because the games were developed independently of the publisher. "Indie" means independantly-developed and has nothing to do with publishing (aside form the fact that publishers are most often the ones who dependant developers happen to be dependant upon, but that's not the case here).

Not really. EA doesn't own the developers; they're independent entities who chose to go to EA for publishing/distribution/etc.
On the other hand, there are developers like Bioware and DICE who EA actually owns, so there's nothing indie about them at all.

Actually, I think you're pretty close to the mark, Gloubik. The posts above mine are arguing from a somewhat different perspective; technically, indie just means an independent developer, i.e., one able to make all their development decisions in-house without interference from outside influences. Some publishers may honor that autonomy, but once a publisher like EA gets involved, I too would have to question how independent that studio still is. And if funding is coming from a corporate entity like EA, then I'd say certainly not. "Indie" to me also includes some connotation of private funding.

Bundle of games for full retail price, you won't recieve gift if you already own a game. EA style, yeah!

EA does pretty good deals to be honest -- that's one of the few things they get right a lot. IIRC, Battlefield 3 is $20 this week or something and Origin has quite a few ridiculous sales I see on forums (not that I really buy from Origin, but still).

EA could very well publish the game without giving any financial backing. It's an indie developer, not an indie publisher.

I am 110% okay with this bundle as long as its actually steam redeemable.

You can also get a patch that fixes all the game breaking bugs for a additional $20!
But in order to activate the patch in your account, you must pay a fee of $30 per month. And EA hopes you are happy paying that fee, because once you start paying it you can't disable them from charging you anymore.

Well, now I see how it's possible to do this, though I was wondering for a long time, why these bundles are indie only. I'd love to see some bundles of old games/games that have sequels coming out/what have you; just would be nice to see some. Surely not thinking about anything like Humble Call of Duty Bundle here though.

Looks like, after indie music, indie gaming is now a completely meaningless buzzword as well.
Set sail for corporate marketing bullshit!
