It was just there in my game libary without explaination (not that i mind fun game). I own a physical copy and played it quite a bit but that was before actual origin existed and later i was not able to activate the key on origin. Is it some sort of promotion? A glitch or something ? Again no appearent information to find why. Did it happen to anybody else ?

EDIT: Well it seems the riddle has been solved.

https://help.ea.com/en/article/origin-accounts-are-now-ea-accounts/

It seems that most people who have already owned a version of BC2 on steam or Retail had it activated on origin now as well. For BC2 you had to make an EA-Account which WAS kind of a seperate account to Origin. I was not aware of that. These two accounts now have been merged.

Thanks for all the participens with their info.

seems that the ea-accounts you had to use for bc2 and the origin accounts actually where sepparate accounts that just recently have been merged ( a assumed both were the same well know it actually is so)

I have the batlefield 3 they gave some time ago and I never installed (well... I dont have origin installed either). If they give away Bad Company 2 i will install the thing. BC2 is very fun!

appears that you will only get it if you have already owned and registered it on steam or when you had it on retail. i remember that you had to make an ea-account to play multiplayer. seems like i falsly assumed that the ea-account and the origin account are the same but infact both were sepperate until a few days ago.

https://help.ea.com/en/article/origin-accounts-are-now-ea-accounts/

so if you used the same email for bc2 and origin you might have it in origin already (no guarantythough)

Bad Company 2 required registering an account and loging in to play online, if you used the same email/details when they released the origin client they automatically added the game to it.
