Hi,

I am wondering what you all think is the best web browser.
This is opinions not necessarily facts.

I use Chrome for my regular browsing, and IE11 as a backup browser. I also have Firefox installed but that thing is too slow and clunky for me so I rarely ever start it anymore.

Firefox.

I like it's layout, I like it's selection of add-ons, it works and it works well for me, and last but not least it's open-source and made by an NPO.

Palemoon. This is a lighter version of Firefox without all the hassle and resource eating.
I started with Explorer decades ago, then i went to Firefox, it was better but weight, then i went to Chrome, nice too, but i hated all the updates every freaking day, which made my computer hyper low.

Since i got Palemoon, no more problems. You can even skin it with firefox personas and have the typical addons.
Less resources, better perfomance.

Good luck :)

Firefox, mainly for a better security and an army of awesome add ons ( cryptocat, https everywhere, user agent switcher, refcontrol, greasemonkey, noscript, adblock plus, lightbeam, to name a few )

Lynx, just for the fun of it.

I keep chromium as a backup as i tend to manually play with the about:config of firefox a lot ( to force a higher level of security by default for example )

Personally, Firefox is my primary browser and Chrome is my secondary one. Either of those would be a pretty good choice.

Been using Opera since version 7 or so and now I use Opera 12.17 & Opera with Blink (15+).
I also have FF and Chrome installed as well as Maxthon for web dev testing.

I tried Firefox before Opera switched to Blink but it was a huge memory hog, especially with all those extensions I used to add functions Opera already had.
After Opera switched to Blink I tried using Chrome as my main browser but it moved like crap, on all my PCs (home/work - Win/Mac/Lin) and in time it seams it became buggy, laggy and memory hog.
Firefox, for some reason, becomes unstable after some time. Probably it's something I use since I've been having this issue for years now.

I don't understand the generic firefox/chrome war. Chrome works perfectly fine and Firefox works perfectly fine. I'd say they're on par with each other.
