CONGRATS!!! :DDDD
Name: Shitaki (after the type mushroom and because the breed kinda sounds like it) <--Probably a bad name, but i have terrible creativity.

Lol very creative, my mom said she wants to name her Sushi though but we'll see... :D

She looks a bit like that except her spot on her eye is a light brown

Or you can name it after someone, something, or a game :)

The guide won't load up for me ._. google docs just keeps on reporting some error.

crate training is very good for house training as they would usually not go in a enclosed space so when they whine you know to take them out. eventually they just start to learn that outside is the place to go and they just make noise when they want to. also make sure to reward them if they go outside.
Name? Rush

I don't want to stick her into a small box or w/e because she'll only be 4 days old by tomorrow and the thought just worries me... I make sure to reward her for going outside for sure, a couple of people have mentioned that to me also.

not just yet maybe around 4 weeks and it doesn't have to be a small box but maybe a enclosed area. dogs tend to not go where their home or area is.

Four days old is extremely young, too young to be taking the puppies away from their mother I'd say. I think you're supposed to wait until they're a couple of months old.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah I had a feeling too, but the thing is the owner doesn't have time to look after a whole litter so, my mom volunteered to take one home tomorrow night

Then just make sure you introduce the puppy to plenty of new people and animals on a regular basis during her first couple of months to help her social skills develop normally.

My first puppy actually turned out fine, he was separated 2 days after birth

Since shih tzus are a Chinese breed you could name her Meimei (pronounced like the month of May), which means "little sister".
As for how to house train her, just take her outside at the same times every day and she'll naturally go outside. Dogs are like most any animal in that they don't want to use their home as their toilet, so if they reliably have the opportunity to go to the bathroom outside then they will.

yes I'm aware them originating in china, and believe it or not my little sister wanted to name her meimei, she calls her stuffed bear that too lol.
thanks, i'll make sure to follow through with your advice I'm just worried that she'll get into a habit of going plop when ever she feels like it lol
Comment has been collapsed.
If you feed her at the same time then she'll naturally use the bathroom at around the same time too so it'll be easy to get her into an outside routine.

That's going to be a bit of a problem...because I have a cat right now and my family feeds him constantly. They think that when he wants pets or to simply play then he wants food. I told them that cats only need to eat twice daily especially since my cat's weight is average.

Your family would probably be ok with it if you explain that feeding the dog, and by extension the cat, at specific times will mean no pooping in the house.

My little sister is just going to feed her every time she comes near here...seems to be her habit with the cat even though I scolded her so many times for doing that ._.

Then put the cat's food bowl somewhere the puppy can't reach, maybe somewhere high up. And whenever she tries to leave food out for the puppy, kick your sister in the back of the head and when she wakes up act like you have no idea what happened. Eventually she'll equate free-feeding with pain & blacking out and will stop. See? Humans can be trained just like other animals!

I like the idea of that, but if I do that i'll get my ass beat in return lol and since she's the youngest she gets away with EVERYTHING... :(

Actually, knowing how to speak Chinese, it is not REALLY like "may". There is an accent.
Comment has been collapsed.
I only know how to speak Firefly and I've heard their pronunciation was atrocious. How is it supposed to be pronounced?
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, imagine a boomerang. It goes out and comes back right? The accent goes mei mei but the accent is kinda like a check. Its very hard to explain. I do't do a good job explaining.

Yeah...about that...I live in an urban city, our backyards are only big enough to fit a kiddy pool and trashcans but we live in front of a big park so it's very on convenient.

Then why are you getting an animal that needs to go outside if you have no outside for it to go to? Seriously, this is high irresponsible and unfair to the dog.
Comment has been collapsed.
No outside to go to..? There's a huge park across the street from my house and I'm not the person that's taking in the dog. If I had the option I would allow the owner to keep the dog until she's old enough to fend for herself. Life is full of sudden surprises, so before you go around spouting your "that's irresponsible and unfair" non-sense at least take the time and effort to assess the situation.

lol sounds like it can turn into an adorable cartoon :p

Take her out every hour or two at first and especially after eating, then praise and pet her when she goes. Most dogs learn very quickly this way. As she gets older, her bladder and bowel control will improve and you'll be able to have more time between potty trips for her. It's also likely as she gets older she'll find some distinct way of indicating when she wants to go out.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'll make sure to do so, hopefully she catches on quicker than my old dog. It took him a month to finally learn how to whimper when he needed to go bathroom

Lol, I'd love to hear my mom try to pronounce that, her English isn't very good so I think that would be fun :p
Comment has been collapsed.
I know that already, I was trying to say if I spelled it out then I'm just curious as to how my mom would pronounce it considering her english isn't the best.

Name her Salt. Or waffle. Or poptart. Or pancake. Or french fries. Or twinkie. Or oreo. Or macaroni. Or turkey. Or grilled cheese. Or OH GOD SOMEBODY FEED MEEE

The puppy is now at the vet and my dad has decided to call her Lucy, the vet said that she would be able to live with us within 3-4 weeks and I'm going to visit her daily since it's only a 30 minute walk from my home.
