Let's say I win something. Now, I know it's deeply frowned on to regift it on a site like this. Is there any harm in me giving it to my spouse, so they can have it instead?

-Don't trade, sell, resubmit, or give away games you win.
It's not only frowned on, it's against the rules, and can lead to your account being suspended. Only enter for games that YOU are going to activate on YOUR account.

There should be an additional script that when the site syncs to your account, it checks whether games you've won are actually activated on your account, if not, then it auto-reports that user to an admin.

There's always the problem of DLC that don't show up in your Steam Library, so you could exclude those, but it'd still cut down on a lot of regifters and rule breakers.

CG said he was working on something like this a month or two ago. I agree that it's a fantastic idea, but like you mentioned, the DLC is probably the wrench in the works. Hopefully he gets something like it up and running soon

Rules clearly say, the gifts you won must be reedemed in your account, nothing else

Give your account to your spouse; short of that, just get them their own account.

Well, since you're married, how about you share your account? It's not like you can't trust eachother... can you?

Why would we share an account? We play games together. Also, that's a retarded, retarded rule. It's not like it's being regifted to trade for TF2 items, or other games, or "contributor score" here. The rules need clarified then, because that's absurd.

Though, frankly, it's not like you could stop someone from doing handing a game off to a family member.
