Khimera: Puzzle Island is $1.49 and I can recommend is actually a good nonogram game https://store.steampowered.com/app/1217830/Khimera_Puzzle_Island/
The dev also has some FREE not nonogram games (which I haven't played) and one features the same characters from Khimera https://store.steampowered.com/franchise/suitgames
The classic PopCap games are all $0.99 for the sale, but you can get a few of them EVEN CHEAPER if you already own Plants vs. Zombies with this bundle https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1662/PopCap_Party_Pack/

I dunno about hidden gems, but I can recommend:
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition - classic immersive sim, 1st person rpg/stealth or whatever genre you want to call it game
with the latest version of the Community Update (I last played it having Transcended, Confix & DX10 options checked on)
& New Vision 2.0a textures
(Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are also solid and cheap but not cheap enough for this thread)
Deathtrap - action tower defense game

Grotto
A game where you play as a shaman for a village. The people of the village come to you to ask for help with their problems.
The unique thing about this game is that you do not tell the villagers what to do directly. Instead, you give them constellations, which they then interpret in their own way as an answer (not always the way you wanted).
This game is heavily affected by your choices, making every playthrough distinct.
The Cat Lady
has pretty old-looking graphics, but a very nice story and extremely well written characters. It's permanently dark and creepy without being stressful or having jumpscares. Takes about 8hours and is pretty cheap

On the "Summer Catchers" page, I will always see an elderly woman, with a sack on her back, looking towards the left with her little round head on top, holding some bent twig or something in her left hand!
Can you unsee now?.. heheh..

Don't Escape Trilogy, "reverse room escape point and click games" for 1.24€ / $1.24
First one is short, but then they get depth and replayability for different endings / achievements, and consistently getting better and better.

Another sale, another cheap little hidden gems hunting post!! (been a while...)
Good games under (Or around) one buck, - ver. Summer Sale 2024
I reset my old tables, you can access them here and here (and maybe also here), and decided to put offers that caught my attention, or cheap games that I personally recommend.
As always, the rules are:
Also look here for games under $1
https://gg.deals/deals/?drm=1&maxPrice=1&onlyBestDeal=1&onlyHistoricalLow=1
And here for under $2
https://gg.deals/deals/?drm=1&maxPrice=2&onlyBestDeal=1&onlyHistoricalLow=1
Your recommendations for 2024!
