Received wrong key (14 characters), and can't contact sender. What do I do?

I won a game and got the code sent to me a few hours after. but the code says it is invalid. It's only 14 characters long, which makes me think it was an error.
I don't see any way to message them on here, and when I sent a friend request to their linked Steam account they didn't accept.

I'm not sure what to do.
Any ideas? :o

If you can't get in touch with them and the 7 days run out mark it as not received and they'll have to get in touch with you, or live with an "unreceived". :)

Yeah, this is what it boils down to. Try to get ahold of them but if you can't after 7 days is up you need to mark not received or you'll end up with a non activated win.

Worst case for you is you don't get the game you won. Worst case for the giveaway creator is they get penalized for not keeping their end of the rules.

Either way, you're good as long as you mark it as "NOT RECEIVED", even if the key does work on another platform say Uplay/Origin. If it's not a steam key you can't mark it received or you'll have issues later on and risk a suspension for not activating received win.

Probably someone gave you an uplay key instead of a steam one.
if you agree you can have the giveaway deleted if winner can't provide a key.

May I ask which game it was, you have won? o_O
Not that it really matters, but maybe we can see if it's a key for another platform like Uplay for example...

Like I said, it doesn't really matter, because it doesn't change the fact that it's not working. i'm just curious xD

Oh, and yeah. The only solution is to contact the giveaway creator. You should NOT mark the game as received until you have got a working key...

Everything as they have written above. Don't mark received if u got key to other platform than steam. In SG system game will be still shows not activated then u can be suspended and don't pass some sgtools rules.
