I am all for competition, but since when did EA or Ubi do decent deals? :D

I know what quid is lol and it was 5€ here :P and I got few games. The problem is that it was once and lots of origin games were never on sale.

Well lately some Activision games got pulled from steam, like blur or new Wolfenstein. We can never know for sure.

It's not truly goes here, but i bought Plants vs Zombies on Android. Well soon i ordered a refund. Half the game was cut off and had an online DRM. EA and better deals? ROFL.

Huh... I was going to say no at first when I looked at their shop... but then a Splinter cell bundle caught my eye for $24... I figure I'll give it a shot to see the final price and if I can get a discount code... but when I added it to cart, the $24 game ended up being $12... then I added the rainbow six bundle just for kicks, which is a $20 bundle... but my total only went up to $21 total for all the games. I just might consider getting it... :\

Here's a quote from a post on Ars Technica regarding this topic. I think it describes the situation perfectly.
"That´s like reading "The plague and cholera will join forces to make the world a happier place"......"

EA lost my custom a few months back so I don't care about their titles, (they could release the ultimate game of total badassery awesomeness of the entire history of of the universe both past and future, I still would buy it as it would have that EA logo on it...I'd be rather loathe to pirate it too...) and I'd never install a legit copy of a Ubisoft game because of the DRM...I will however still buy it, but instead install a crack.
Don't get me wrong, I know Valve have made their own share of mistakes over the years, but they have learned not to do those things...EA and Ubisoft also make mistakes...unfortunately, a lot of the time, its the same mistakes repeatedly and I've just had enough. Steam > Ubisfot > Dogshit on my shoes > EA > Nothing

Well it depends on what are you comparing.
Steam > Origin & UPlay, no doubt about it.
When it comes to promos, sales & cool marketing Valve > EA & Ubisoft
When it comes to BAD MARKETING & SUCK IT CUSTOMERS EA & Ubisoft > Valve
When it comes to games, it's hard to compare.
But when it comes to Retail Collector's Editions and other limited editions releases EA & Ubisoft > Valve.

You do know that Ubisoft is also releasing their games on Origin right?
More competition the better..
More competition
= more time put in to optimize each digital distribution platform/client,
= competitive pricing
= multiple ways of getting them lauly lauly game :D

What a trash fusion...Uplay sux, Origin sux.
What they call super duper christmas special, we call daily deal.

Exactly. Until EA realises they can't milk us like this and make more money than steam, they will never be a competition. Its their digital service, so the get all the money and still charge us more than on steam, pathetic. Like 50€ isn't good enough, they now charge 70 or even 80€ (that's more than 100USD!) for some crap.

I just wonder WHAT 12 yo idiots buy from this store.

This Christmas, my brother got a physical copy of Assassin's Creed 3 for PC. I went in to help and it literally took me over an hour to figure out how to even play the game or where to enter the code or even where the code that came with the game WAS. As far as I'm concerned, Uplay and Ubisoft can rot in hell. As much as I dislike EA, at least their client is USABLE.

I purposefully avoid anything on Uplay, Origin and GWFL (Dark Souls being the sole exception)
It's a shame really because so many great titles come out on those services and not on steam.
The reason I like Steam so much is because it allows me to have all my games in one place, with nice stat tracking and friends list, etc.
This is why i hate Origin, it forces me to install yet another game downloading software to be able to play the games on there because they're not on Steam :/
TL;DR: Steam was first and that's why it's awesome now, it's competition is a little late and therefore sucks.

Desura has even started selling Steam games
All these games need Steam to be played. So already 8 games Steam only.
How about helping Steam out ? And how about that ?

They can offer us games at low prices, but nobody wants to have games on different libraries. So I can say Steam is better because it has more games than any other library.

Uplay is just utter shit, Origin is alright, but Steam is just awesome, see no reason to ever buy anything on Uplay

I downloaded it because I got a bunch of Ubisoft games, but I can't even redeem any of their keys on Uplay, what sense does this make...

good to see them expanding and making more choices available and all that, but yeah - no competition to Steam, just another place to look for deals which is certainly not a bad thing - especially with games that are EA only and not available on Steam
so, great news but Steam is the shit ☺
