How is the problem of "serial requesters" going to be addressed? Will there be a limit of GA you can enter before creating one yourself? What are the ideas for the future regarding this?

Yeah, I also thinks there needs to be a restriction on that. Just like a restriction for people that already own the game. I just found someone who owns 110 games on steam but still participates in 54 giveaways :S

So? Duplicate game I agree with. Quantity of games I don't. Who cares if he owns 110 games on Steam, he doesn't deserve to win a free one then? There are also a bunch of US laws regarding contests and prizes I wonder if the site is properly adhering to or not..

Oh, seems like it wasn't clear. I did NOT mean the person shouldnt be able to enter because he owns that many games. I also dont care about the quantity of games a person owns.I was trying to imply that he owns almost every game already, that he entered a giveaway for. Sorry for that.

The ones gifting are the users, the site is no more than a forum and an engine facilitating it (IMO)

Restrictions definitely sound like a good idea. What happens if someone enters 20 Portal giveaways and wins the closest ending one? What if that winner doesn't remove themselves from the other giveaways?

we should do something like this http://www.steamgamesales.com/view-comments.php?id=5444
because too many people enter and win games that they didn't really want and only play for an hour

lol? U enter the giveaway for urself. Not for others. TBF only the accounts used for entering should be able to obtain the gifts. No second accounts, no friends, no family. If u don't intend to play the game u shouldn't enter.

If it woulda been upto me. Only players with a Steam rating of >5 and a combined value of games >100$ would be able to enter (which is still pretty low considering indie packs and such are priced off at over 90% sometimes). I also would get rid of the e-mail and make them contact the account directly.

$100 sure, no idea how steam rating works. Yeah, get rid of the email.

If this was inspired by Play it Forward, the spirit is that if you win a game, you should give back and gift one. Perhaps I'm mistaken and this is not the case (random awards seem to indicate this).

I don't mean it should be one to one, but some kind of ratio should apply

Perhaps there could be some kind of ratio, and having a negative ratio (SLIGHTLY) decreases your chance of winning. But it should still be mostly random, as that is the point of this site.

it's a site about giveaways, not trading games. U either gift some (spare) game u got, which is an awesome thing to do. Or u don't, which is fine aswell. But don't expect to receive something in return or have some kinda privilege on other giveaways.

Why enter for a game that you don't want? I've entered on 5 giveaways, but those 4 games ( 2 were lead and gold giveaways ) I really want, and I think I'd play those games for quite some time.
They should be able to limit you to 2 giveaways ( just throwing the number out there ) for a set limit of time, a day, a week or whatever, and having a giveaway of your own, either replenishes the entries available or just adds up to the unused entries.
