Concord was released 2 weeks ago, but died already.

"...at this time, we have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6, 2024, and explore options, including those that will better reach our players. While we determine the best path ahead, Concord sales will cease immediately and we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased the game for PS5 or PC."

Good. Serves them well for what they did to The Crew.

XDefiant reached a peak of 700,000 concurrent players.

Within 48 hours, XDefiant had over 3 million unique players.

Week after launch, XDefiant had 7.6 million players across all platforms.

Just for the sake of comparison, Concord didn't even reach a 1000 peak amount of players playing at the same time. Before it was shut down players were having trouble just finding 10 people to play.

A little payback for the PSN restriction bs, I'm still salty about GoT & the upcoming GoW .. probably SM2 down the road too.

It did not beat The Day Before's record... Quite weak showing...

The day before, which was basically a fake game had a peak of 38,104 players.

Low, right?

Concord didn't even reach a thousand

They could have revived Killzone or Resistance with the money they poured into this dumpster fire.

Kills Japan Studio, then wastes hundreds of millions on live service garbage...

If i had to guess, it's probably because we'll be seeing a relaunch of the game with a free-to-play model anytime soon

I'm not exactly into playing these kind of games so I wouldn't have been looking out for it.....but I don't think I had even heard of this game until I heard it was flopping.

stupid name (Concord, really? Like the airplane that also failed miserably due to how badly designed it was?)
stupid logo that looks like 90s Konami logo ripoff
stupid characters + modern politics
idiotic price (Hey look everyone made their 5v5 shooter free so lets charge $40 for ours!)
toxic devs (just look at twitter posts from some of them defending this turd)

Mix all the above and you get one of the most successful games ever made, assuming the goal was to be below the bottom of the barrel.

Sony invested 200 million dollars into this steaming pile of shit... just imagine if they invested that into new Killzone, Resistance, Twisted Metal, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter... or lol even a sequel to something obscure like Disruptor or C-12 Final Resistance. No... hahah that would be RIDICULOUS. Gotta invest into muh GaEmZ Ez Ay SerWiCe.

Reminds me of Anthem, where they went "guess that wasn't so good huh", and then went back to the drawing board.

Anthem looked so fun in the previews, shame how the final product turned out.

It seems someone who worked on Concord leaked some details, like the budget.

Classic AAA overspending. I'd love to see the specifics of how that money was spent. Something we never get to see.
Kinda reached its apex here.
