Do you actually play the games you win? (GA inside)
I won 3 games , and i played ALOT of 2 of them .
The 3rd 1 is in the w8ing list , cause i got couple games i really wanted to play recently ... and couple more today :)
But yeah , i only enter for stuff from my wishlist anyway , so i play / will play If by some miracle i win something else :)
Tho most of times when i check a GA of a game i really wanted... some guy with 3 thousand 17 million and 96 game won in :x

I am actually plan to play games I win, that means I am not entering giveaways for +1game count or cards.
I couldn't even play the games I bought yet.For example I started playing tomb raider which I bought a year ago.And I still didn't played most of my wins.Every summer I hope I could finish it but no.
Steamdb says I didn't played 73% of my games(Sh*t)
I could try to finish them,or I could run couple of miles :)

I only enter for games I'm really interested in. Yet I don't manage to play them. Especially the last couple of games. I just have not enough time to play all the cool games that go on sale, are in bundles or I win here. So it's not only the games I won here, but also the ones I actually payed for. And I don't spend any money on games I'm not interested in. I should actually stop buying games until I have played everything that is in my inventory.

Some. I have huge backlog. But I only enter those I want to play/try out.

All the unplayed games I won here are now on my "To Do" category of my library.
I feel like it is a duty towards the others who entered the giveaway and didn't win, because it would be a waste if I don't play them;
I feel like it's the same concept of regifting: why did you enter if you didn't want the game at the first place?
Leave it to who could like it, am I right?
On the other hand I'm also a collector, so I enter most of the giveaways I can.
: P

I've only won one game but I haven't played it yet. This is mainly due to backlog and not having a lot of free time but a friend is going to give me a backup so I will hopefully play it soon.

Aha, you noticed... After their first few wins, when the excitement of actually winning a game has worn off, many people around here stop even installing them. Oh, if a game has trading cards they will "play" with idle master, maybe that counts...
I remember being shocked to see someone with several achievements in all their wins, i.e. they actually wanted those games, and installed them, and played them! Shocking because it's so unusual. I suggest not giving away any games you love, or you'll just feel bad when you check the winner's playtime next year. :)
It's discouraging when you notice someone who's won dozens or hundreds of games, and never installed a single one. And yes, there are people like that around here. They may feel bad someone's noticed, but they don't even pretend to feel bad for doing it... Pure greed...
I guess we shouldn't be surprised, when so many people are using a script to enter the giveaways. They don't even know what games they are trying for, it's all done automaically, with a fake "thanks!" comment too. Why should we be surprised when they don't play a win - they didn't even want it.
I think at some point most people stop trying to win everything, and just try for things they'd play. A lot of people stop entering giveaways entirely. Good luck with the backlog! :)

It is a real bummer to go through winner's profile and acknowledge that the game you are gifting is likely never going to be played. My personal stats could be better. Out of 37 wins, I have finished only 20 games. Still have eight to complete that are not yet so for various reasons.
I started lowering the number of giveaways I entered at some point. Cannot recall the moment but most of the games end up as filtered now. I see no reason to go and win something, and not intend to play it, when someone else could have fun and enjoy the game instead.

I make a focused effort to play them, though I've had a few where I only ended up playing for an hour or so... =/ and felt rather bad about having won a game that I 'thought' I would like, but really... really didn't. That has only happened twice though.

I try to play what I win, but I admit some of the games I've won have been just sitting in my library. Not because I'm not interested in them, but because I never found the time to play them... yet!
But one day, eventually, I will play every single game I own! I swear it! :D

I'll be honest, I do have a huge backlog, but most of the games are ones from bundles. There are a bunch of newer AAA games that I still have yet to play, though, but I'm definitely going to be playing them. I like to leave a lot of the bigger games to play later on.
As for playing what I win, I have played, or been playing, most of them. Some games, like Alien: Isolation, I'm saving until I get through another AAA game or two that I have installed, to save myself from having too many bigger games to try and get through at one time.

It's actually fun to try out games you'd normally not play/buy.
But there's also the tons of bundle games, and sales, and life tells me not to.

So generally I try to play what I win, since I only enter for games I think I might enjoy or seem interesting. Indeed, I had for a while managed to play just about every game I'd won. Then for a while I wasn't playing games, then when I was, I had a hard time focusing on any single game and just kept hopping around from game to game, etc.
Lately, I've been having a pretty good winning streak, and I noticed that I hadn't even played most of the stuff I'd won in the last year and this steamgifts backlog was growing quickly. I started wondering whether or not others played the games they win here. So I looked at the winners of my previous giveaways and was disheartened to see that most of them hadn't been played at all, and of the few that had, most of those had barely been played at all. Specially since, excepting my first two GAs, I try to only give away games I consider decent at least, even if they might be bundled and/or cheap. And they'd had a year to play them.
Now, I'm not judging them. I only looked at the one game they had won from me. It's entirely possible that it's just a coincidence, and they do tend to play most of their wins. Or they have valid reasons, such as waiting to complete a series before playing it, being stuck with a PC that's unable to play them, and so on. I myself have many of the same reasons for a few wins of mine. And then we all have huge backlogs nowadays. Anyway, this is not about judging, I don't like judging.
So, I've started prioritizing playing some of my unplayed wins and I'm finding that it's actually a decent motivator when faced with a huge backlog. Just thought I'd share my feelings and find out what other people think and/or do.
If you got through that wall of text, then there's a reward for you, but only if you will play it in the near future.
