Do you actually play the games you win? (GA inside)
Only won one game so far, but played it almost immediately, reviewed it, got the level 5 badge. I enter ones I plan to play within a month too. I only have one never-played game that I got without paying money for it, Metro 2033, but only because I really don't like FPSs.

I've played them pretty much on the weekend after I won them, however I haven't completed any of them yet... Akrham Asylum SOON

Mostly depends on what I win (provided I win at all)
Mostly I enter GAs just for my sadistic pleasure of calculating and going against statistics and probabilities XD
If for example I see something with entries below the 500... I just a well put my entry for the hell of it =)
Then again, if you win Fallout:NV you should be doomed to hell if you let it rust in your library, what a monster!

Do not enter giveaways if you dont NEED/WANT/HAVE TIME for a game. Enter only those you really want to play. That
s why people like me have very low wins and why we have 1k entries on every giveaway.

I've only won a couple, and I actually haven't gotten around to playing them yet, not because I think they're bad games (I've heard super good things about them) but because I want to be in the right mood to start them.
One of them is a horror game and the other is a Diablo clone. I really like those genres, but I only enjoy playing them if I wake up one day and think "Man, I want to be really scared" or "Oh man I want to pick up a lot of loot"
So I'm just waiting until I get that itch. Until then, they're already installed and waiting.

When I started on SG, it was the "gift" part that interests me (shame on me). So I used to spent points on games whithout really thinking. Recently, I began to really enjoy SG, not because of the games, but because of the forum. That's why I decided to spend my points more respectfully and I'm only entering games I really want to play or games on my whiwhlist :)
So now I'm just waiting to have some free time (summer, I'm waiting for you) to give a try to the games I won. I even didn't play most of the games I bought myself...

Steamgifts - Come for the gifts, stay for the forums.
That should be the new tagline. :P

Actually, that's against the rules, so it's not just unfair. It's also easy to verify, since you have set your profile public to use this site, and thus anyone can see if you have added the game to your account. Granted, there is no automated system currently because there'd be some false negatives due to problems with the steam API. But if anyone spots it, including the person giving away the game, then the winner can get reported and punished.

I started Deponia, but didn't like it that much.
Haven't tried Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes. I want to play it, but I have a big adventure game backlog and hardly play.
As for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, well, I haven't even finished Half-Life 2, nor touched it in many years, but wanted to complete my Half Life collection.
Not playing my winnings is the main reason I haven't entered giveaways for over 2 years. In any case, I'm mainly playing on Android these days, so no point in getting more PC games (though I still occasionally get tempted to buy them).

Most of them I play, but if they don't hold my interest I don't force myself to finish.

Played about half of them, so far. If a game is not as good as I hoped, won't force myself to finish it

I've only won three, one of which I've played, the other two I plan on playing after I beat some of the other games I just bought or traded for. Too much backlog.

I only enter GAs for games that I actually want to play, so I normally end up playing all of my wins. I try to play them shortly after winning, but sometimes I just get so caught up in a single game that the rest will have to wait.
Edit: sometimes the game I won (or bought) heavily disappoints me, so I just ignore it after a few hours.

Hmm yes I have played everything I have won...
As I have won nothing as of yet

So generally I try to play what I win, since I only enter for games I think I might enjoy or seem interesting. Indeed, I had for a while managed to play just about every game I'd won. Then for a while I wasn't playing games, then when I was, I had a hard time focusing on any single game and just kept hopping around from game to game, etc.
Lately, I've been having a pretty good winning streak, and I noticed that I hadn't even played most of the stuff I'd won in the last year and this steamgifts backlog was growing quickly. I started wondering whether or not others played the games they win here. So I looked at the winners of my previous giveaways and was disheartened to see that most of them hadn't been played at all, and of the few that had, most of those had barely been played at all. Specially since, excepting my first two GAs, I try to only give away games I consider decent at least, even if they might be bundled and/or cheap. And they'd had a year to play them.
Now, I'm not judging them. I only looked at the one game they had won from me. It's entirely possible that it's just a coincidence, and they do tend to play most of their wins. Or they have valid reasons, such as waiting to complete a series before playing it, being stuck with a PC that's unable to play them, and so on. I myself have many of the same reasons for a few wins of mine. And then we all have huge backlogs nowadays. Anyway, this is not about judging, I don't like judging.
So, I've started prioritizing playing some of my unplayed wins and I'm finding that it's actually a decent motivator when faced with a huge backlog. Just thought I'd share my feelings and find out what other people think and/or do.
If you got through that wall of text, then there's a reward for you, but only if you will play it in the near future.
