Total War Shogun 2 :3

The first shogun was the best for me when it was out, my favourite is the call of warhammer mod for medieval 2. I haven't played fall of the samurai yet but i would love too, especially now that Yae No Sakura just finished.

Its a nice for the 3D, seeing all those armies moving in real time with nice graphics, but it obviously lacks what an Histwar or a War In The Pacific Admiral Edition can offer in terms of depth, or even a command ops, or for something closer a Scourge Of War... Mass markety RTS that is very fun to play, but not something mindblowing. Battles tend overall to have a taste of skirmish and have a lack of literal epicness but i expect that to improve with each iteration...

It's just simple easy stuff that is good for this and the looks, when i don't feel like playing something turn by turn or when i don't want to bother with thinking.

The Fast pace is nice as well, and the battles are nevertheless bigger than Achtung Panzer Operation Star ( but waaaay smaller than Histwar )

Try Empire TW, it´s the biggest, cause you can explore and conquer the whole world, not just a part.

Rome was the first Total War game i played, back in 2006. I didn't play the original Shogun or the Medieval games. I remember really wanting Empire and Napoleon, but could not find the Gold Edition of Empire at the stores. So i checked steam during the autumn sale in 2011, got Empire and Napoleon with all the DLC for both game for $7 (The lowest I have ever seen it to this day) and with that, i was hooked on steam. I had steam only because of HL2, but never bothered with the store until that autumn sale.

As far as my favorite game of the series, Shogun 2. It is the game that feels the most polished and complete.

So far I only played with the first one and I must say its pretty awesome. Reminds me a lot of Civilisation ( I mean the map system) and the battles are pure breathtaking, really gives you back the feeling that you are in command of thousands of soldier

Medieval II because of all the mods that exist for it. Hyrule: Total War is hilarious.
