80's vision of the future, even though the year(in-game) is 2007...I kind of like the environment, 'cause it's gonna take you out of the "get thrown in a jungle and survive" style of Far Cry.
EDIT:Apparently, you get thrown in a island...again.

Yeah, it's not bad, though I've never actually beaten it. Trying to build up a new hive when all the available adjacent grids have 255 red ants is impossible.

What surprises me the most is that :
a) it's standalone, not requiring FC3
b) devs said it will take 8 hours to complete
c) have good, AAA graphics
d) and costs quacking $15!!!
Really, is this Ubisoft's way of saying "sorry, gamers, we sucked, please forgive us"?

Oh dang. I didn't either.
I have no interest in playing Far Cry 3, but this looks pretty great.

Eh, if I can't put in at least as many hours as the amount of bucks a game costs, it's not worth it to me.
Then again, if you include lots of fucking around and figuring out what to do, gametime can easily go up 50%.

Plenty of singleplayers are worth it. Lots of cheap games have a lot of playtime in them. Same with games that have a lot of mod support or are great "fuckaround" games, like Minecraft. Then again, Minecraft ain't as much fun on your own as when you're playing with other people.
And it's not so much a complaint of $15 games not being worth it, they can be, but if there's a new game, and it's not a big title (such as Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, Skyrim, etc.), then no matter the price, if it's more than $10, I'm hesitant to buy it, because it could be a game that I end up dropping before having played just 2 hours, and it'd be a waste. So yes, with those games I tend to wait for them to go on sale.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon looks like hilarious awesome fun though! I wish you lots of fun with it if you buy it. :)

Big titles are allowed to have barely any content(/price)? Weird thinking imo. Your examples also are: RPG games or games with mods/mp. Don't compare those to just a SP. 15$ on the launch for 8 hours is great when you compare it to other games (of the same kind), that's a fact.

That's not what I meant, sorry if you incorrectly inferred that. Big titles tend to have so much content that they're worth it whether they cost 20 or 50 bucks -- at least playtime-wise, they still need to be good enough in other areas, obviously. And that is why I'm hesitant to buy games over 10 bucks that aren't big titles, because in many cases I can't be assured of quality beforehand. Especially with a new release, because then nobody has played it through entirely yet and told everyone about everything that's good/bad about it.
Whether a 15 dollar game of 8 hours is worth it is definitely not a fact, it's an opinion. If a game is just mindless grinding for 8 hours in a turn-based game with few options and no storyline or characterization or funny bits, then it's not worth it. If it's a game that's such a blast and by the end you feel like you just watched a great movie, sweating from the intensity of the fights and you feel somewhat sad over the fact that it's already over, then definitely.
Of course, I'm just taking two extremes and picking things that I would or wouldn't like out of a game, but I just mean to show that playtime is not the sole factor in what makes a game worth its price.

What about Bioshock Infinite (and any other SP only game which isn't an RPG/openworld/sandbox/whatever)? It's 60$ (just taking retail price) and has only a SP which lasts less than 15 hours (it's totally worth it though).
Blood Dragon can be considered as a 15$ standalone DLC of Far Cry 3 (which is a big title) and offers 8 hours. Blood Dragon definitely won't be as great as Infinite but if you compare money spend/hour I think it's great. If they added 2 or 4 more hours of gameplay they could have sold it for $60 and loads of people would have bought it so I'm glad they are doing it this way.

I admit I was very tempted to pre-order Bioshock Infinite (in no small part due thanks to it being at least 25% off and including 1-3 more games in all digital distribution places I saw it). I didn't -- and currently still not yet -- possess enough money that I'd feel free to just buy it though, which is why my standards for game purchases may be higher than others'. Both Bioshock Infinite and Blood Dragon have very interesting aesthetics and I've heard great things of the story and characters of Bioshock Infinite that I'd likely get it if I did have sufficient funds. I mean, people get movie DVDs for $10, for movies that almost never last more than 3 hours. (Of course there are plenty of differences between movies and games on a basic level, like how you can enjoy a movie with any number of people, or replayability/rewatchability of movies/games, but that's a different thing, so let's not get too deeply into that. :P)
As for Blood Dragon, I'm loving the way they're advertising it, too, with the live-action movie trailer they made and the making-of interview video with the developers. Far Cry 3 is on my wishlist as of now, but I think that I'd get Blood Dragon before it. Partially because of the price, partially because of the aesthetics.
And hey, for a game that made at least one person call it "the game that Duke Nukem Fovever should've been", 15 bucks would definitely be worth it.

A stand-alone? Shiet, i might get this blood dragon thingy

Honestly it looks really fun, great for the price.
I don't see how it relates in any way to Duke...

I already played it and I can confirm that the OP is right.

Hell, I'd play that.
Is that game for real, or is it an April Fool's joke?
EDIT: Sweet zombie lincoln, its real.

I guess they just copied the codes from far cry 3, changed it a litle, changed abit the current graphics of fc3, sell it for less( for less work though ).
I don't like this idea, its like a mod for fc3, which they're selling for more cash..

Apparently its 8+ hours long story and by the looks of it work was put into it, really this is the type of DLC/Expansion I think we should support, not 20+ costume packs at 2.99 each.
