Do you think VAC banned accounts should be allowed to join SteamGifts?

Considering one of the ways to get VAC banned fast is to use illegitimate gifting or use proxies to illictly use foreign region codes and such, I think it might be a bad idea to allow them in...

This has been brought up. VAC is not perfect. There are legit people that have been gifting here that are VAC banned.

I will need actual proof to believe what you just said because of my 5 year membership of Steam and playing Valve games this has never happened to me.

Just because it hasn't happened to you yet, doesn't mean it won't. VAC can be a problem specially for people that use mods.

Ah yes, mods, I completely forgot about that. Now I remember the ENBSeries is able to get you banned, but wouldn't you think that the person might drop their banned Steam account and get a new one since the account is permanently banned? I know some are not able to right away due their cash.

Most games do not use VAC, and only having TF2 and CS:S on a second Steam account is not enough value to get a steamgifts account.

Where do you get your numbers from? I want a source cited front and center from a creditable location.

Same for me.. Vac banned accounts shouldn´t be allowed. For the past 2days I saw like 15 fishy giveaways (maybe all of them from russians) with vac ban and like 2-4games on list. Gives bad name for all good Ru people :-/. Just my point of view

My last account was VAC banned due to a mistake while testing a cosmetic mod and I'm a legitimate gifter. It's unfair to assume that everyone with a VAC ban is fishy.

Guess I'll tell you my story too! I'm a long time Steam fan and a legit player! I hate hackers and other kinds of cheaters. Spoils the fun both for user and victims of his usage. Anyway, I really got into playing Modern Warfare 2. Over 800 hours played, almost everything unlocked. I felt like I wanted moar of MW2 as I've experienced everything the game had to offer. So me and my friends have found some mods. Nothing really gamebreaking or harmful - just things like ProMod, GunGame, SnipersOnly. Here comes the main thing - we decided to play them in PRIVATE match so nobody from outside would be forced into a modded lobby. Everything was fun and fancy until some of us got banned! And some were not (proving VAC doesn't detect 100% of cheaters).

So that's it. I got banned for such a foolish reason. Private means private! Not for VAC :P.
This ban doesn't really bother me much but it just shows that I got banned without me being a hacker. I wouldn't like for my ban to have other consequences than blocking my MW2, seeing as I'm a cool person and I even have some positive feedback on steamgifts :)

TL;DR
Some people didn't really deserve to get VAC banned and can still play fair!

No. Just because somebody acted like an idiot 5 years ago doesn't mean they didn't learn their lesson.

VAC bans are engine-wide, they're not banned from Steam. Why should they be banned from Steamgifts?

I don't see how a person can't be an idiot that uses an aimbot and also be a generous person that gives away Steam gifts.

And man, if I had a dollar for everytime one of you guys wanted some group of person banned...

Yes. There's no reason not to. End story.

If I was still on my old account and this statue were in effect, I wouldn't be allowed to gift the way I do because I had a VAC ban on record from innocent modding on a private lobby. So yes, there is a reason not to - not every VAC ban is from doing something fishy, and not all accounts with VAC bans on record are here to scam.
