Sonic - The Movie (2019) Trailer is out and it's.... disturbing

Everything in trailer points to horrible story and character writing.
Lame jokes trying to make sonic "edgy" and "youthful". The cop seems to be a horrible actor.
Jim Carrey is thrown in there just for getting attention for the movie, because at least from the trailer it looks like he is the only thing there that will be close to being quality content. Same goes for the song - how does it fit and why would it fit, being an old song. Again - just trying to act relevant in the eyes of viewers
What was the most annoying - it doesnt look like they know if they want to be action flick, some family friendly advanture movie or comedy. Its a whole lot of mess.

It checks all of the boxes in all the wrong places.

Only thing I really liked out of the trailer was the song lol.. this isn't looking good for Sonic.

That's really bad. Maybe not quite as bad as I expected, but then again I was expecting it to haunt my dreams and nightmares.

Sonic looks weird. Jim Carrey as Robotnic is pretty cool I guess, but probably gonna pass.

WHY OH WHY Gangsters Paradise, out of all the edgy nostalgic songs from the 90's who made the connection, of a movie about urban people leaving the cycle of the hood, to freaking sonic, i think nobody behind this movie gives a fuck about it.

This looks like a bad kids movie, and that's the only audience that would want to watch something like this. At the same time I'm pretty sure kids in the range that would be interested in this has no idea who Sonic is.. so I don't get who this is for. How did this get made?

even if you hire good actors, people don't appreciate a complete reboot+redesign of a beloved series. Might as well go the whole way and make something original, why borrow a franchise?

in a few shots sonic's model looks okayish. but that freakin shed scene, sonic looks downright terrifying. its the combination of human teeth + flat humanish face on a fluffy critter + dead eyes. the other scenes, his nose doesn't look so flat and his eyes are more expressive so it works somewhat. idk, i'll probably end up going to see it anyway, because the 90's kid in me who loved the cartoon (the one that got aggressively meme'd on decades later, not the boring soap opera one) is excited as heck, but ugh that model.

jim carrey and ben schwartz' acting was on point, though.

Whoever made that trailer from sonic team racing should have made the movie (not that it's so spectaculair but atleast people would say it's more sonic).

But I've never played Sonic before, so I don't care if it isn't like it was in some games 20 years ago

word on the interweb is they will be redoing sonics look after every shit on it so fast.
