You still access ASTATS?
I prefer Astats for reasons mentioned by you - guides on missable achievements. Completionist for me is a recent discovery, I use that as well but that is more like personal notebook on how are you doing. It looks way more polished however so there are pros and cons about both of them. Happy to discover crawler temporary fixed again
:))

I waited for the crawler to start working again before creating this forum. ^^
I think each site fulfills its function. If Completionist had the option of creating guides for the achievements, indicating which ones are necessary to grind or are obtained automatically as the story progresses... who knows one day? For now Astats is still quite useful.

i stopped using it almost completely ever since i found completionist. the ui is much better and it shows more stats.

Check out Steamhunters too. Maybe you like it too. :)

I use both, C.me to check my backlog of unfinished games, Astats for guides and time to complete.
Bump! :)

I WOULD use it more if it was working.
For a long time, Astats has been pretty much the only achievement-tracking site I use. I've only seriously considered switching to Completionist this year because of the update issues Astats has been having.
It's hard to know how to feel: on one hand, the service is free, and I wouldn't want people whining at me if I had a pet project that costs money to run, and that I let other people use. On the other hand, it really sucks when things aren't kept up with, free or not.
I don't know what needs to happen to salvage the site.

If I'm not mistaken it is (or was) possible to make donations to maintain the site. But I confess that I never made any (and not even for Wikipedia and that makes me even sadder). Allowing ads might help, maybe? I don't understand much of it, but whenever the site is having problems I think of this guy on his own, having to maintain the site in his spare time and dealing with work, family and everything else.

still using it
even though I got blocked for bullcrap reasons a couple of years ago by an allmighty mod that never even bothered to reply to me when I asked for explanations (but promptly closed down that thread instead).. another mod tried to be helpful via pm, but all I got were some set phrases and nothing changed at all
and the allmighty at the time had an awful lot of invalid/broken/expired achievement unlocked....

I've been through something similar: a game had problems updating achievements on Steam (due to some issue in the game itself) and a user reported the achievements as broken.
I contacted the admins because it was a game I really spent a lot of time on and pretty much every achievement I got was super ultra rare...
but in short, I just got stressed for nothing. :)

I joined because of the guides, but the problems with crawler have me down to only occasional use anymore.

I still use it, but then as a moderator there, I sort of have to lol.
The crawler is a huge problem though and I often have to wait a week before I can adjust game details for someone. I was under the impression that senior mods had been given the ability to reset the crawler, as there was a period when it mostly ran fine, but now I am not sure what is going on. You can quickly check if the crawler is stuck by looking under About / Astas Stats. If the area a large number of commands in the queue, you won't be updating anything.
I am not a senior mod and only senior mods can handle bans/unbanning, so please don't ask. Best place to get a quick response would be their discord channel.

Other users have recommended Streamhunters and I'm considering using it more often. The interface is a little confusing because of the sheer volume of information and (for now) there are very few guides to the achievements... but maybe it's worth giving it a try.

I've peeped into a few of the tracking sites but the only one I use actively is completionist. There's something oddly satisfying about bar graphs and pie charts there. The "previously completed" section and I are in a hate-love relationship, lol. (Right now there's a certain game that at one point added extra achievements but they're unobtainable so everyone lost their 100% and no way but SAM to get them back... and it's been a test of my patience XD)

It's called Tick's Tales, I completed it 5 years ago, and from the looks of it, whenever those new achievements may have been added in the past, nothing has since been done to implement them fully. I mean I know there's games with troll achievements but the game is actually great, got a snarky sense of humour and puns galore. So really something I'd recommend. But for anyone mildly OCD about completion, this is not recommended. XD At least until they fix it, if ever.

I intended to write about the problem with the crawler (which sometimes goes days without updating achievements and sometimes updates them almost immediately), the fact that the site is (apparently) maintained by one guy alone and the Completionist (which is a excellent option). Anyway, I think most of you here already know ASTATS and probably stopped accessing the site some time ago, right? So I won't write about my impressions and the forum is open for a few days if you want to comment on something.
I still use the ASTATS because of the guides and to check the playtime of some games and I noticed that the site has less and less users, so I was curious to know how many of you still access it. :)
For those who stop by, I created a GA open to everyone and a GA just for members of the ASTATS Steam group.
See you around!
