Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Probably the best "first-person-sworder", the moves are especially satisfying to pull off. Way better than any Elder Scrolls game to date, yet only a handful of people seem to know it. Made by the same guys as Dishonored again, but this one is like 4 times better than that mediocrity.

I think that's the only real under-rated game from this thread lol. As for the second part, I don't think you can compare Oblivion and DMoMM because one focuses on being an aRPG while the other focuses on exploration and lore. In fact, the only similarities between these two games are the first person perspective and the fantasy-medieval setting.

The thing is, the plot is a bit abrupt. Yes, it tells you the things you need to know, but to really know what's the whole story is about, you need to finish Heroes of Might and Magic 5 with two addons first. Most likely people, who like to play action games, won't play a turn-based strategy and logically I presume it would work vice-versa.

Personally I played DMoMM first and only some time later on I've managed to beat HoMM 5. And I was extremely surprised when I finally understood, that the story of Heroes of Might and Magic is concluded in an Action RPG. I don't know any other examples where the plot would be split in such a manner between two games of completely different genres and made by completely different developers.

I don't mind that the story is "abrupt" because you play from kha-beleth's son perspective (I forgot his name), who has no idea what's going on.
You don't have to play DMoMM to get the end of HoMM5, but indeed you have to play homm5 in order to understand the full story. Beside that, dmomm has 4 possible endings.

Just to be clear - HoMM V is strongly recommended to play before playing DMoMM, as DMoMM is a direct continuation of the story from HoMM5 and thus it's a conclusion to the story. Simply I played those games in a wrong order -_-

Witcher 1 was imo underrated before Witcher 2 came out. Soundtrack itself was just freaking amazing, I remember reading Witcher books while listening to it, amazing.

Witcher 1 wasn't successful with US gamers cause books are still not fully translated into English. New lore (for those who didn't read the books), strange fighting system made a lot of potential gamers turn away... Nevertheless, the game was successful in Europe and especially among CIS countries.

Yeah, only 3 books have been translated so far and it's weird cuz they didn't translate Sword of Destiny but they translated The Last Wish (both are just compilations of short stories, while the 5 other books are the saga). Hope that someday people will be able to read whole Saga in English ;> says as the newest Witcher book released a week ago sits on his desk :>

Regarding the scope of the plot and awesomeness of the characters personally I can compare the Witcher saga to "Song of ice and fire" series only. It might be a shock, but George Martin and A.Sapkowski are friends in real life.

BTW, The Witcher games continue the plot of the books and start exactly where the last seventh book ends.

Duke Nukem Forever.

The game was shuffled around for 10 years, given a clusterfuck of a mess, it wasn't THAT bad. It just wasn't 10 years worth worthy. A perfect game to drink too while playing.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. One of the best sci-fi games. Battle vs Chess is also an underrated game. It is a very likable, can be used as a fancy 3D chess game or you can use it in 2D, too.

To The Moon. That was the first game in a long time to make me go WOW. Also Little Inferno was much more fun and had more heart than I expected.

That's one of the worst games I've ever played, even worse than a lot of flash games. I'm actually going to have support remove it and it's sequel from my library it's so bad
