Go get grandma, it's a crossword puzzle giveaway! [CLOSED] Solution posted

Hi guys, this is my first puzzle/giveaway. I wanted to try and do something different as far as puzzles go. As I'm quite bad with solving and making puzzles I thought a crossword puzzle might be fun! I haven't had much time to play test it but here goes anyways. I really hope I did an ok job. I'm not giving you much to go on now, that's the point of the puzzle. I'll add more hints as time goes on.

Crossword puzzles are cool
The tabs on the bottom of the page are NOT relevant to the puzzle, these only change the style of the crossword itself. Do not click them. If you do just hit the back button in your browser.
Sorry to those that had to re-solve the crossword. :P

Rules:
-No spoilers please.
-Capitalization on proper names. (People and places)
-Have fun!

Don't forget there is a second part of the puzzle and the giveaway isn't revealed by the solving the crossword alone.

SOLUTION: Solve the crossword(Page source for crossword has all the answers ;P). Find the five bold letters in the OP;
BKRSJ Using simple alphabet decipher (A=1,B=2,etc) decodes these letters into 2,11,18,19,10. These numbers show which crossword answers that will give each letter of the giveaway code(1st letter of each answer as they appear). :D

Thanks for playing everyone, I hope to create some more unique puzzles in the future and will be helping my wife create some in the near future as well.

Very nice puzzle, smart and tricky, I couldn't solve it because I thought it the crossword was just a distraction. :D
