A few days ago, someone added me on Steam. His/her profile was private, but I accepted the request anyways, and the profile was still private. I asked them why they added me, but they said nothing. I asked again a couple of times, and still din't get a message, so I ended up deleting them from my friendlist. It happened again a hour ago, fully private profile and no replies.

Why are people adding me? Could they be trying to hack my account in some way?

Ah, I was playing a game both times so I couldn't add them until a few minutes after they sent the request.

Just don't open any links given to you by people on Steam.

I recommend you add nicknames to all your friends so that if they change their name and other information you can still tell who's who. I've had people try to impersonate other friends to scam me. I have 90% of my friends tagged and when I add someone new the first thing I do is tag them.

They are like the sci-fi KKK. Except with ships capable of interstellar travel with ships as big as the Infinity, trained drop soldiers, in charge of hundreds of colonies, and with at least one thousand super-enhanced guys wearing power armor.

Damn, I'm starting to want to have a Xbox One.

Nothing to worry about imo. Look at me. 224 friends but I only know like 20% of them. This is just sad. ;(

Don't accept adds from level 0's. Solves a whole heap of problems.

I accept all requests. As long as you don't open the links they give you, you are safe. BTW I like when they say: My friends what to trade with you... and I have only a booster pack in my inventory :D

Yeah, this is happening to me too right now. I always check first, if i won anything here, so maybe someone wants to give me my reward, but they look like random people. I added one of them, and it tried to made me a "great offer". I removed him.

I simply decline all level 0 accounts with a non public profile.. One time when I did accept once a dude said that his friend wanted add me.. Yeah right. Instadeleted him... :) So beware and ignore all those requests.
