Happy pride month! Sorry, no giveaways from me (I'd love to, but unfortunately buying region-free games is impossible here). Just had a talk with my uncle, he thinks that every LGBT person should be subjected to conversion therapy (he doesn't know such fancy words, but that's what he meant). And various inconsequential nonsense like ICD-11 don't mean anything to him apparently. He's not an evil man per se, just your basic Russian with basic Russian values living in a country with homophobic laws. God, I'm so tired of this pointless hatred. Is it too much to hope for a saner world?

That's what happens when governments promotes the idea that something is wrong by making laws against it. And that's why they do it.
And they also do it because they are scared of change and they are holding on to the past.
And they do that because they know that the past is gone and things are changing whether they want them to or not.
I know it doesn't bring you any comfort because we are all living in the here and now but I really think things will keep changing for the best. If not for everything, for this at least.
You should ask your uncle if he knows anyone who is gay. When he says no, tell him he does. He just doesn't know it because LGBT people are just like everyone else he knows. They're human beings who work and strive to better themselves and love their families.
My great uncle used to think the same about conversion therapy. Truth is he had no idea what that was. I introduced him to a friend of mine who had gone through it. He never mentioned it again.

I didn't say love equals gays. I was remarking on the disparity of someone claiming to be lovely and sweet and all about love saying "ewww" in this thread."ewww" is not a very loving or sweet thing to say. And LGBTQ+ Pride is very much about love.
