Just did mine today.

Bought the Rockstar Bundle on Green Man Gaming this morning, already owning some of the titles. I then proceeded to activate the keys for the games I didn't own and was left with some spares. Rather than copy/pasting my newly spare keys straight into into the file I keep them in, I decided to check them first.

I often try keys for stuff I already own, looking for the "Product already owned message" just so I can see that the keys sent were for the correct games. Well, I'll not be doing that any more! Already owned Max Payne 3 and you can imagine my surprise when my Max Payne 3 key actually activated.

Turns out I had a Max Payne 3 (ROW) on my account and this new key was for Max Payne 3 (WW). Whilst I knew there were different regions, I didn't know you could actually activate 2 keys of the same game from different regions on the same account. Total waste of a key. Lol, what an idiot.

So what's the dumbest thing everyone else has done? Anyone else been as stupid as me?

I bought Infestation: Survivor Stories, not knowing it was just The War Z, after it had changed it's name. There's £1.50 I'll never see again.

You still can but not for stupid reasons like that :p

Next time you want to get a game revoked, it has to be something genuine problem.

I think you just made me realize the stupidest thing I've done. Time to go get a key reset.

Edit: Ugh, I activated Rising Storm via a Humble Bundle link. This complicates things. Guess I'll try Humble support first.

You tried the key twice? Really?

The support was great though.

I just recently got origin which allows you to try the key to see if it works without actually redeeming it and I forgot Steam doesn't have that feature.

It wasn't really steam.... but I bought the PC version of skyrim from walmart for $60. The kicker is my computer wasn't good enough to play it. Then I bought GTA IV from Amazon (this one on sale) with the same computer that wouldn't play it. I now have a gaming computer that can play them and have starting a gaming youtube channel. (Same username as my steam name if you are interested in looking it up.) But I still haven't played Skyrim..... which is frustrating knowing I spent $60 for the base game before I knew what Steam was and you can get it now for $7.49 on sale. That and the same thing as everyone else with all these games I don't have time to play all the games I have.
For something that is specifically steam related, when I was making the account, I made my log-in as LimeWegeLoej..... I have it publicly as LimeWedgeLoej, the name I wanted it to be, so while people can't actually see my fail, I know it's there and it still kinda bothers me.

Buy an item on Steam Market for $10, knowing perfectly well that it would tumble...and sold it for a loss in the end. Such an idiotic move.

Bought some games that can't be run on my current PC (Gorky 17, Septerra Core and Braid - although I played them all on a different machine). Also Divinity 2, but in that case my PC is too slow to handle the graphics.
Bought all Half Life games one by one not realizing that they were a part of the pack (and failed to save money during the sales).
Bought several games that ddn't live up to expectations, including Skyward Collapse, Titan Quest and Torchlight.
But worst of all was pre-purchasing Agarest: Generations of War. Don't get me wrong, I love Japanese RPG Games, namely Final Fantasy and Chrono and Xeno, I also love visual novels, but this particular game turned out to be a complete waste of money. I wouldn't be that mad if I have bought it at a 75% discount, but I was so eager to see a JRPG on a PC so I hurried to buy it ASAP and was completely disappointed.

Does buying snowglobe cards on the market and trusting that steam can keep a stable platform so that badges can be crafted from them count? (or for that matter that they would extend the expiry time to allow for the fact their whole marketplace collapsed for the final 12+ hours of a time limited event)

Brought tonnes of games but don't have a machine to run them on yet. Also have capped(& slow) internet so is going to take years for me to download them all :( think I'm going to start downloading from the smallest titles (indie platformers etc) up to AAA titles like GTA IV later, love GTA thou :(

does anyone know if rockstar remade GTA london 1969 & 1961 for PC like they did for gta 1 & 2, those are the only two gta pc titles(apart from V) I'm missing & don't really want to buy disc of amazon for a zilllion dollars, already have GTA London 1969 on PSone :(
