Giveaway, how to buy on Steam

Hello,

What is the fastest way to give a game away via a Steam gift? Send by email or wait 30 days? I'm affraid sending by email has to be done right away or something, so I'm not sure if it's the way, and 30 days wait seems annoying :/

by email, or just add friend and send it directly with steam
