Ok, you've probably heard of them,(I'll be shocked if not) but to me these guys are a resurrection of a classic type rock I'm not sure they have ever gotten ENOUGH attention I'll link my favorite one, but man, they have a bunch of good stuff.
I know someone else suggested Halestorm but fuck it, I'll link probably their most known song cause Lizzy is so hot in it
Jesus, What an editfest for me... I just wanted to say thanks for the GA, though I won't be entering (I have it)

Don't have much in the way of classic rock that comes to mind at the moment, but I can offer a bit of power metal if that's your fancy. Recently I started listening to Nocturnal Rites again, a Swedish power metal band an old friend introduced me to years ago; this was the track on the CD he lent me. Aside from that, I have a particular fondness for their 2005 album Grand Illusion, especially the songs Still Alive, End of Our Rope, and Never Ending. Helped me get through many a graveyard shift back in the day.

More experimental, but great nonetheless

I prolly have to give Deadwing a listen again, but their best album for me is definitely In Absentia. So many great songs, a ton of groove, fantastic drumming etc.
Porcupine Tree - Sound of Muzak
Most of the stuff Steven Wilson does is pure gold. Here are some great songs if people are interested:
Steven Wilson - Drive Home - one of the best guitar solos ever by Guthrie Govan
Steven Wilson - Ancestral
Steven Wilson - Regret #9 - also a great solo
Steven Wilson - Routine

Yeah, I definitely seem to prefer the new stuff, I guess Neil is singing more and shouting less, and the production is a whole lot better. That's at least what struck me in the limited time I've been checking out the old shit.
Yeah, I know it's gonna be a blast seeing them live. :D

Don't know if you're still checking the group, but here's a few bands that have caught my ear over the last few years.
Heaven's Basement - (hard rock/glam rock/dirty rock'n'roll) - Pretty great band, have this extremely melodic and energetic driving sound that feels really sexy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v17N0ZgjdHI
Pure Love - (garage rock, pop rock) - Singer's Frank Carter from the punk band Gallows. Here he's really melodic, you can barely tell it's him at times.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxQgsW-ewHM
Killing Joke - (post-punk/post-metal/industrial metal) - They are really well known for their 80s post-punk/new wave induced material and their hit song called "Eighties", which is in the soundtrack of many games and films. Still, I'm recommending this band because they're really underrated and their newer albums are very underappreciated. Since the late 80s/early 90s they're more metal than rock, but the sound is really solid, eerie and futuristic, as always.

Since Dir en Grey has already been suggested, we should not forget X-Japan ^^ I loved them, well, I still do :3

One of my favorite rock bands is mewithoutYou - Wikipedia describes them as "post-hardcore" but I don't really know what that means. As a first song I would recommend "February, 1878" from Ten Stories ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R07cjOFw7i0 ) and then the rest of that album if you like it :)

I have a very lax summer job and is able to listen to music during work (don't tell my boss shhh!). Therefore, I would like to know more Rock artists/songs that you think deserve more attention, so I can sneak them while working :3 I promise to listen to them all but I don't know that I will be able to reply to every single comment though. I let other SG fellas do that job for me I guess.
On the side note, what do you think about Greta Van Fleet? Imho I think they are great! Young and talented, I hope they will make masterpieces one day and change their bad name as Led's cover band. If you haven't checked them out yet, clicky here!
The gib is Mini Metro for lvl1+, add the "/" at the end to get access (lazy way to prevent bot :P).
SG metal heads please calm down lol
Note: Although I'm more of a heavy rock, metal guy myself, I'm looking for more ZZ Top, 38 Special kind of Rock I guess :P My fault for not clarifying. Anyway, I do have a blast listening through everything though, keep 'em coming please c:
