I have a very lax summer job and is able to listen to music during work (don't tell my boss shhh!). Therefore, I would like to know more Rock artists/songs that you think deserve more attention, so I can sneak them while working :3 I promise to listen to them all but I don't know that I will be able to reply to every single comment though. I let other SG fellas do that job for me I guess.

On the side note, what do you think about Greta Van Fleet? Imho I think they are great! Young and talented, I hope they will make masterpieces one day and change their bad name as Led's cover band. If you haven't checked them out yet, clicky here!

The gib is Mini Metro for lvl1+, add the "/" at the end to get access (lazy way to prevent bot :P).

SG metal heads please calm down lol

Note: Although I'm more of a heavy rock, metal guy myself, I'm looking for more ZZ Top, 38 Special kind of Rock I guess :P My fault for not clarifying. Anyway, I do have a blast listening through everything though, keep 'em coming please c:

Rock n' Roll?

Yeah!!
Yeah....

I've recently gone back to Sabaton, I didn't like them many years ago but my daughter recommended them to me again so I had another listen. Their new stuff is amazing, history in rock music and if you invest time in researching what they are singing about and check their lyrics you can actually learn a few things. Definitely now a quality band and probably the only band where I can now say I don't actually have a favourite song but have a selection of around 25 different ones I listen to and love them all.

Here's a couple of examples:
Swedish Pagans
Winged Hussars
The Last Stand

Classic Rock/Hard rock: Royal Blood;
Pop rock/Brit rock: Nothing but thieves.
I think that Royal Blood are getting what they deserve (they are more or less famous in Europe), but I saw Nothing but thieves live and they definitively deserve so much more! Anyway both bands will shine in the near future in my opinion.

Remo Drive - More of a punk band that has some pop elements, but they have some pretty good stuff.
PUP - A punk band that has insane live concerts and they're quite high energy on most tracks.
Real Friends - Another pop/punk band that recently released an album. It's a great album to get into the band because it's the easiest listen.
Islander - Each album they make is almost an entirely different style and they have a wide variety of tracks on each album.
Descendents - A punk band that sounds the exact same after 30+ years of making music.

Not necessarily my favorites and not really Rock & Roll bands, but they're definitely a few bands that are underrated and not very popular.

My favorite is The Birthday Massacre, and I love most of their stuff. Their latest album, Under Your Spell, was kind of a dud for me, but Violet and Superstition are some of my favorite albums of all time. I also really like Talking Heads and Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I feel like most people know them.

Ooh, I'm glad you mentioned TBM; I haven't listened to them in ages. I remember buying Walking with Strangers when it came out back when I was in college. Found out about them through Mindless Self Indulgence when they collabed on a remix for Straight to Video. Those were good days. Simpler, too...

Well, their sound did change with Pins and Needles; all of the albums prior to that sound similar, but Pins and Needles broke that mold. I actually didn't care for it at first, but it's grown on me. Hide and Seek is different, still, but Superstition is a partial return to form.

No really an unknown band, (actually not even rock, they are a metal band) but did you listen to Manowar? Blind guardian is really cool too.

I really like melodic metal, not the one where they scream that makes me uncomfortable :D

EDIT: Just remembered another one, can't believe i forgot it. Its called Gloryhammer, its a Scottish band whose songs are like its telling a story about a fictional universe where everything is named by Scottish cities/regions/mountains...

If this song doesn't make you laugh you are dead inside

Hah Steel Panther is the shit. :D

For Pentakill I was expecting you'd link something with Jorn on vocals. Jorn is awesome, and the chick that sings on the album is amazing too. :) I prolly liked it so much cause some of the guys from Xerath (the band) worked on it, and if you've heard them before you should be able to hear the influence.

Mortal Reminder - fuck that chorus is awesome. :D

I've recently discovered Jaded Heart, Phantom 5, Ammunition and Kryptonite.
Also, if you like older stuff, you should try Bonfire (albums: Point Blank, Fireworks) or Heart (albums: Bad Animals, Brigade, Heart, Desire Walks On). There are lots of great artists that I could mention, but I think that they're recognizable enough
<cough> Bon Jovi <cough> Slash <cough>

Will have to check out some of those bands, but pretty much everything Winger did has been awesome, as well as Kip Winger's solo albums.

Kip Winger - Kiss of Life - this groovy song also reminds me of Sting in some ways :)

Alter Bridge - Words darker than their wings - awesome new live video

Not exactly ZZ Top but I heavily recommend:
Katastro: Their genre is hard to nail down but I'd classify them as Alternative/Indie with Ska-Rock elements. Whereas Last.fm says in their biography, "Emerging from diverse musical backgrounds, the members of Katastro gather to create a unique sound, blending hip hop, blues, jazz, and rock." In an exclusive interview with thepier.org Andrew, the drummer, mentioned, [Pepper front-man Kaleo] grabbed me, picked me up and kissed me on the forehead about seven times and said, “Dude, we are going to record your album and sign you to our label and you’re going to come to Redondo Beach and record it at our studio.” My favorite part of the story is that they made their whole first album in two weeks, to help out Kaleo from Pepper recorded some vocals of their songs to appear on the album but decided he didn't like them and scrapped them in favor of Andy's vocals.

Songs I recommend to start with: Waste the Night, A Junkie and a Gentleman, Basement Floor (Acoustic)

They are down to earth dudes making music that isn't your everyday radio jam, the interview can be found here: http://www.thepier.org/interview-katastro/

Thanks for the gib
I think someone here on SG posted this group : Contrust
Found them awesome - I think I should introduce it further to someone else ;)

Dont know if what I listen really falls into your line of interest, but here are some groups I`ve been listening to lately -
Fozzy
Maybe this and that from Holywood Undead
I love bands with female leads - Halestorm .. Dororthy .. Probably Pretty Reckless .. a bit to heavy side : In This Moment , also , and I love this one
Maybe even Ghosts, they have unique vibe

I dont think I need to post much about more well known groups, but just in case at least some names that comes to mind - Disturbed, Stone Sour, Fife Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down...

More or less rock not metal but maybe something catches your ear

Also - Greta Van Fleet sounds pretty interesting. Hadnt heard of them previously..Thanks for introducing them :) Also - this kind of uplifting rocknroll reminds me of Royal Republic. You could check them out, too, if you dont know them

Wow, really like most of what you're suggesting there, course I'm a huge A7X guy and I was thinking of suggesting Halestorm. I used to love HWU but I really haven't been listening to them once they tossed Deuce out :(

The new 5 finger song is one of their best IMO.

I love ZZ Top and .38 Special.
Jim Steinman is my absolute favorite songwriter-singer-musician-guy ever.
He wrote all of Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell, which became one of the best selling albums of all time.

Steinman is known for his huge, dramatic, tragic, over-the-top grandiose music. He wrote two songs for the movie Streets Of Fire:
Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young and Nowhere Fast

Benny Goodman ain't exactly rock, but a classic nonetheless.

Mountain is as classic rock as it gets.

Hurriganes might also be up your alley.

Shotgun, Cool World, Mrs. Loud, Drift Away,
