Well considering a non-budget PC can cost upwards to $2,000 to $3,000. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

If I was going for a non-budget PC, I would have picked a lot better hardware than that.

whoa, that's extreme, that's also the problem with available pc parts... some of them arent fairly priced ($999 extreme or titan) or you are free to use multiple gfx cards

but if a top (gaming) 980ti is $600, & a consumer (not socket 2011) top i7 is $350, the rest is not much, total probably below $1,500

so this is why when a 'budget' pc is mentioned, i say it should mean more like 950, 750ti, old 660 at best ($150 or less gfx card), a cheapo $200 or less cpu, $100 or less mobo, probably everything total is like $600, even then some people cant or dont want to afford that, they want to compare to a $350 console (which at least guarantees fixed good enough performance)

Question: CPUs from AMD are generally not recommended for gaming PCs?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I would not pick an AMD processor, if I had the choice. Intel i5 or i7 processors are the best picks for a gaming PC in my opinion.

A friend of mine is always reccomending amd and he even recommended me http://xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-r9-300-series/amd-radeon-r9-380-4gb-double-dissipation-r9-380p-4255.
I clearly will go for win 10 in due time and dx12 games.

16 gigs of ram:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231888
Still havent found a mobo of 150 max euros
Gpu:Either http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125684
Or ati radeon one.A friend recommended me 380xfx 4 giga or 390.
This pc will prolly run for 3-4 years with no changes.

I like that GTX 970 GPU, not a big fan of the under-performing AMD video card though.

I hope it does fit my Non brand midi tower though. Its clearly bigger in size compared to my ati radeon sapphire 6870.

Just have to make sure that the specifications of a video card meets the requirements of the space of the case.

I will take measurements etc!Else im clearly gonna sell my non brand pc case + my asus xonar dg pci which i wont need and buy a bigger case (will prolly pick thermaltake or coolermaster midi ones)

That looks like a good budget gaming PC, even nice for a mid-range one.

One thing ... if you're using an older power supply, be sure to check that it's compatible with your new components. You may want to consider a new one if yours is getting long in the tooth. ;)

My psu is 80+ bronze efficiency and im pretty sure it will be okay!(its like 2.5 yr old one)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, good recommendation on a new power supply. Especially if the older one is more than a few years old. Sometimes newer tech needs new adapters, like 8 pin power to a video card compared to 4 pin molex or the 6 pin. Also a new power supply will have a new warranty and will last you longer than one that is old that may also break down sooner.

Also I would probably get like a 750 watt, just in case you want to add more hard drives or a higher end video card down the road, so you have the ability to upgrade later, without much more hassle.

Yep, imho every new build should get a new PSU. People tend to neglect it, thinking "oh it's just the power supply", but realistically speaking it's the most important component in a rig, and if it goes it can take everything with it LOL.

Yeah, I have seen when a power supply goes and goes badly, not fun at all. :(

LOL, I love your comment in your Steam profile. "The more I get to know people, the more I appreciate my dog. "

Made me spit out my drink. Well said....

Meh no cash atm for a psu aswell im outside of the budget as we speak (my minimum was 800 now its 900)
Also i dont plan on adding more ssd or hdd as these two are enough already!Although that if i get 50 more i might sell my psu and add 50 and buy a new one.Nice idea there.(The guy who im selling the parts could probably all the pc except the HDD/SSD and i would add more to get psu and new case)

Example in greek price (http://www.e-shop.gr/psu-corsair-cx750-80-plus-bronze-certified-750w-p-PER.640227)

Also the more i get to know people, the more i appreciate my 7 ninja cats.

Have you ever looked at some of the Lian-Li cases? I am a HUGE fan of their enclosures. They really know how to make them and nice light full aluminum ones too....

Can't say that I have. I used to just by a cheap case from the markets and strip/rebuild it to suit my gear - But really loving this store at the moment (PCCaseGear). I bought a new MB/GPU/PSU off them earlier this year, Had a problem with the MB - and they sent me a replacement free of charge, told me to keep the old one (It was working just ram bank 0 kept failing - nps I can run 24gb instead of 32 - still too much :P) and the PSU is whisper quiet - seriously I can't tell if PC is on unless I see the lights.
Because of that I'm trying to use as many Cougar parts as possible - and that case is probably the best looking one at that price range.
You have a link to the Lian-Li cases?

Hmm i will check on it with greek prices and if the items are available here and will inform and reply !Ty for your time aswell!

The liquid cpu cooler is not availble aswell!i7600k was about 415 euros here
Also the case which i really liked is not availble.
And thats why im single btw.My pc only asks for power nothing more :P
