What do you think about SG rules?
Bump!
I think rules are perfect for the time being and they have to be applied faster, with faster resolution of problems and more serious bans.
The system must be coded in a way that if after a week that you marked the gift as received you have not activated it in your account you must be temporarily suspended in redeeming new keys because a support member will have to check your case. once you have been checked they will decide if you need to be banned or not.
People need to be disencouraged.
Also I would advice putting an alert after the space cat, to inform (again) winners about the rules (activate the game on their account without regifting and no multiple wins etc...).

Those first two links are hilarious! I wonder if the first one is legit. (Hope so!) :)

The site works because it is as generous as possible, letting as many people as possible use the site to gift and win gifts. There are some rules, but they are there mostly to keep people from leaving - not to kick out many people.
The more restrictive a site like this gets, the less traffic it gets, the less valuable it is.
If you want to be restrictive, form a group, set your own rules. That's what groups are for.
Cheers.

Some rules certainly need updated, but support is only human.

The point system is probably unfair somewhat since games eventually get a discounted price permanently. Say somebody gave out 5 copies of Fallout 4 or whatever and that was all they ever did then their level would drop once the game drops down to $15 or whatever.

FYI: The current rules are in the process of being re-written so as to make them easier to understand.

"Rules" or "Rules on unactivated wins/suspended people/etc etc etc"???
If you say "Rules" I say they are mostly stupid. Why? Well you have this trash pit of lvl 0s who win a game, sell it, get suspended (if reported? idk if its automatic or not), suspensions over, they return, win a game, sell it. rinse repeat rinse repeat rinse repeat.
Does that prevent anything? ^ (checking my first 10 winners more than half have unactivated wins on my game, damn newbie days...)
On a post about G2A having a bundle I joking said something like "so whos going to give me one for a key? lol" and after checking sometime noticed support/admin or whatever their thing says said something like "please no trade offers in this section, take it to steamtrades", i thought they might have been talking about me so i edited my post to something more like "so whos going to get me one? lol" and BOOM, suspended for "begging" because you know, im such a begger i made a whole thread about it and said hey guys, im poor, gimme gimmie gimmie >.> i dont exactly know how word spreads but one of the groups im in removes me without knowing why, and after i explained didnt give a shit. "our group not my group my ass", lol. (which btw was not an expectation for someone to give me anything nor trade me one for a key (no profit for them, why would they) it was meant as a joke because all the G2A hate and no one trusting the site, needless to say i wasnt subbing to their crap)
and then theres the time i was reading another thread where a support/admin/whatever it says next to their name is having a chat with a user (im guessing a popular one?) and the guy says he just torrents the games, blah blah blah, provides links to torrent the game and the higher up says something along the lines "you should remove that, its against the rules, yadadada" to which the person replies something to mean"i dont care" if not those words exactly. does a suspension ever happen? nope, believe me i checked. i was particularly ticked because of my suspension over nonsense. favortism ftw (but i mean that happens on every forum tbh)
So sure. I believe in there needing to be rules, but some of them are unnecessary or at least the punishments for them dont fit the "crime".
an opinion ^ (a dangerous thing to have online)
=^..^=

Hi,
So, after I see some people created a lot of public giveaway for level 0, I think maybe I should give people who didn't giveaway many games some chance to win game too as those who don't have much to give doesn't necessarily don't deserve to win. (my actual reason why I don't really create low level giveaway in the past is in my experience, high level users are less likely to be rule breaker or troll, etc.).
Today I decide to create 12 giveaway for level 2, although not the best games in the world. Turned out that 10 out of 12 winners are rule breaker. Even after I submit the reroll tickets, 2 out of 4 tickets approved still won by rule breaker. While the were denied because they've already been suspended for breaking rule. (I think this should also be improved by adding suspended tag or something as there could be potentially 100s of the very same tickets support need to deny)
This is new to me and I don't see it written anywhere in FAQ or guideline. Yes, I could have ask the support but after I submit 10 tickets in just 1 minute I feel bad for them so, I decided to post here instead, moreover, I can see what you guys think about it.
Actually, in my opinion, SteamGifts rules are kinda vague, in a way. There is only one of each words "rule" and "must" found in FAQ. Instead, the words like "should" and "ask to" are used more often. Seems like cg don't want people to feel like there are limitations or restrictions on giving stuff to other people (might be just my over thinking). But the drawback is there would be more people who don't understand the rules exactly (like me in this case) therefore creating even more unnecessary (in my opinion) support tickets (it also discouraged me quite a bit and I might need to put more thought in the future when deciding to create public giveaway.)
So, what's you guys opinion. Let's share some thought to make SG better!
Note: The term "rule breaker" I use in this thread refer to whose who didn't activate won game on their account (yet) and/or won the same game more than once (and haven't fix it yet)
