Heyo!

As the title says I would like to ask for suggestions for games for couples.
I've played puzzle, escape room, portal, it takes two and multiplayer games with my gf and would appreciate help making a list of possible games to play.

We love games that require collaboration and fun of course, so any suggestions that fit that vibe would be awesome! Thanks in advance for your help!

We will soon start Borderlands 3, I think she'll like it:)
And yes, I believe Borderlands 2 is better, but I've played it A LOT already so going for the 3rd that's the only I didn't play yet (not very much at least XD).

THe rest I'm not sure it's her type beyond "Escape Academy" which I think she'll like it as much as me :)
Thanks!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1086940/Baldurs_Gate_3/ - IMHO best CRPG of last two decades!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1062520/Dinkum/ - Sweet Australia sim
https://store.steampowered.com/app/322330/Dont_Starve_Together/ - rather hard and specific survival game
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1432050/Nobody_Saves_the_World/ - Funny story game with gameplay, focused on builds of metamorph characters
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1623730/Palworld/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2015270/Rotwood/ - Nice party rouglite. You can invite some randoms if it would be too hard
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1604030/V_Rising/ classical vampire survival game. Default server setup is super grindy. You may want to change it to more comfortable
https://store.steampowered.com/app/972660/Izdanie_Spiritfarer_Farewell/ super cool story driven adventure. One of players will become huge white cat, who can't talk. Several last clients seemed to me rather unpleasant
https://store.steampowered.com/app/330020/Children_of_Morta/ - Nice rouglite
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1621690/Core_Keeper/

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1432860/Sun_Haven/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1361510/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_Shredders_Revenge/ - very oldstyle beat em up
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1150530/Wizard_with_a_Gun/ - we've dropped it on the middle
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1313140/Cult_of_the_Lamb/ - the second player will play as lil goat)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/527230/For_The_King/ - nice tabletop. The second part, IMHO trashy
https://store.steampowered.com/app/215530/The_Incredible_Adventures_of_Van_Helsing/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/211820/Starbound/ - with FU revamp only!

I'll definitely ask, I've added most of what was recommended here to a list to check with her and try out with time :)
She simply doesn't like that cam view all that much. But she gives a try to a few different games from time to time when I push her a little and ends up enjoying a few, so those will be the same case^^

I love those threads! I always find new couch co-op games to play!

Some great additions to the list, and they both have hilarious commentaries

  • The Cave if you like co-op platformers it's a great one, with replay value as the cave changes depending on your choice of characters
  • The Deadly Tower of Monsters is a retro shooter with an awesome B-movie feel. Great to play as a couple. Just be warned: your characters will die. A lot. Not because the game is difficult. Just because you will be laughing your ass off to the commentary and getting killed while you're trying to make sure your drink is not going back up your nostrils.

Also adding:

  • Knights and Bikes, a narrative adventure game with a solid story where co-op is crucial. I think you can actually play it solo by switching characters but it's a much stronger game when you play it with someone who has your back.

It is! I played it with my twin on our birthday a couple of years ago and we had a blast (we even read the dialog in silly voices to add to the experience ;) but it certainly added to the length of our gameplay lol)

...there are twin Fluffsters? That's lovely. Now I will imagine all the co-op and cozy games played with double fluffiness.

Haha yep. She's more into collectathon games and dark games but we do share the love for retro point & click and story-driven games.
And ofc co-op when I manage to make her try games she thinks she won't like. Very stubborn that one.

Lightyear Frontier
Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure
The Planet Crafter

The Planet Crafter I'm sure I'll love when I play it, not so sure about her, but I'll try^^

Lightyear will wait to leave EA. I've stop buying EA games due to the amount of abandoned or that take forever like 7 days to die. But it's definitely one to check :)

Thanks for the recommendations :)

With my ex we loved boomerang fu! If you are on the same team you can cooperate to take down the bots.
Out of space is also a collaborative game, little stressful if you are only two but we liked it too

I didn't think much of boomerang because thought with bots might not be as fun and not sure how much would play pvp, when we play pvp in other games, but might reconsider it then:)

We loved the LEGO Star Wars games (at least the OT and some of the Prequel titles). We're actually taking a break from the LEGO LOTR game to play the aforementioned Stellaris.

I definitely recommend digitized co-op board games. One of the best purchases I made was Tabletop Simulator, which has literally hundreds of board game mods in the workshop including lots of co-op options.

Yeah Tabletop I could see working depending on the mods. Will have to check that deeper^^

We enjoyed the collaborative puzzles and weirdness of The Adventures of Cookie & Cream
Also Smash TV for it's retro charm and endless coop twin stick shooter fun

I'd like to recommend retro games in general because exploring this bygone era together is really fun and you can sometimes laugh at how awkward and weird everything is, it's a different kind of experience, almost like archeology.

The Adventures of Cookie & Cream seems like an older Crash Bandicoot with co-op^^

Sadly, only I like retro. I play most kinds of game but she has a harder time trying older games or certain genres, although I slowly try it xP
