Technically you will get points if you create a giveaway.

(In the interests of full disclosure, you also get points whenever anyone else creates a giveaway, and you don't get any more than that from the ones you create.)

Yes, you do, technically. When someone(including you) create a giveaway, everyone(also include you) in SG get points based on 5% value of the giveaway.

Every time anyone submits a game, every member of the site, excluding the giveaway creator, receives 5 percent of that gifts value (in USD) in points.
