Hey there! Dischan Media decided to go for a 80% Sale to promote their campaign on kickstarter to gather funds for next episodes.

Right now you can buy it for just 0.99$/€ from Steam shop

BUT

If you rather decide to buy DRM-Free version you can do it on their official page. Due to the fact that EU customers will pay in $ and not in € it is a bit cheaper.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!

Buying directly from their official page you will also get Steam code. Meaning you pay less but... you pay more to Dischan because it is their own shop.

---->If you want to help them reach their goal on kickstarter click here<----

If you don't want to share your love click here

As some of you may know people responsible for Art changed. Meaning you won’t see Doomfest and RiceGnat anymore. New person responsible for art is Rtil. As for how good artist he is you should probably visit kickstarter and check it yourself. Definitly he is slowly improving, you won’t see that off-putting art style presented on the very beginning of campaign anymore. So if you have already visited site at the begining and didn't like art... come again to see how it changed.

Well frankly speaking IMHO he should improve a lil bit more and try to mimic doomfest… but right now he is on good track.

Is it worth to back it? Definitely it is. Great story and music in ep 2/3 are certain. Will artstyle be as good as in previous parts? We shall see… but in order to see it they must reach their goal, simple as that.

Woot interesting, didn't know they have a Kickstarter, the art is noticeably different but it looks good in its own merit, will check back :D

  • Haven't played the game myself, what do people think of it?

Thanks for the update. The art is definitely looking better than at the start of the campaign.

The game is not bad but no support for such greedy devs. 10$ for 1 episode? Are you kidding me? I thought EA are greedy, but this is worse. 30$ for a game without voice acting, without animations and only few hours long. Don't support, those kickstarter "projects' are easy way to make money for lazy devs.

Moreover episode 2 and 3 are planned to be way longer --". Just read the KS page before criticizing.
Moreover, I think it worth the prize. How much do you pay for a DVD movie, a BD or a theater ticket. The ratio (cad $)(/$/€ per hour is still better with Dys Sys than the average entertainment.

Didn't play a lot of visual novels but episode one was certainly one of the worst I did. I found writing just terrible and it actually managed to skyrocket with terribleness towards the end.

$ = € and Russians pay one third of the EU price.

I'm not supporting this price policy.

Where did you see that oO ?
I'm french and paid mine for like 4€ a looooong time ago, for 6 hours of gameplay (didn't finished all the routes). Also about the russian prices, it's a governmental thing, nobody can do anything about it. If I remind correctly it's to counter piracy, video games are alaway 30% cheaper in russia.

"Steam Price Comparison" addon for Greasemonkey.

It's true that games in the Russian store are almost always cheaper, but still, the devs set the prices, not Valve or any government.

Art style is better but needs to improve more. Still,I don't think it's worth the (kickstarter)price.

Well just like I said... art style still is the weakest part of this project, but Rtil is slowly improving. Sadly there was one update that was basically huge step backward from improving trend… but last update once again gave us some hope.

10 Canadian $ is not that bad price methinks. For me who have price in Euro it is kinda close to price for ep.1. And it will be much longer than first one.

It would be great if person such as you, who knows many VN could give them some tips. Or criticize if needed :) Well if you want to leave any comment you can do it here they are reading all things.

I just think that their kickstarter is a complete wreck..
A lot of people look at a kickstarter once and decide whatever to back it or not. They should've held back and gathered more feedback from fans before launching it. Trying to get all those people back is going to be hard..

Visual novels and episodes don't go well together.
The sale is a good idea to get more attention, but think about it this way: I just bought episode one for 99 cents on a big sale,I expect to get the next episodes for somewhere around that price, not over $20.. I'd say 10 for both episodes is top. When backing a kickstarter, most people want both episodes, even in their kickstarter there are about 5 people who got both for every one person that only got episode 2. The sale also makes tier one completely useless..

If you compare it to other visual novels, dysfunctional system is too short and costs too much. There are a lot of free visual novels with the same level of art and plot, some even better. For paid visual novels you usually expect something very long with good art, sound, etc.
I already said it,but their art style was one of the biggest selling points. They really should have made the artists work more and make it more similar to the original before starting the campaign.
As for tiers..up to 100 they are all bad tiers and need to be priced way less. Say 1 for episode one,5 for episode 1+2,1012 for all episodes,1217 for all episodes+soundtrack,2024 for all episodes+soundtrack+artbook,4050 for flash drive. I don't know if they can change it now though..

I don't think I should comment that, since it's a very one sided comment. Feel free to repost this there if you want..

Sadly I completely agree... it is complete wreck. And the kickstarter campaign started prematurely just because they wanted to start with Indie Gala being active... it was stupid thing to do.

And sadly I am probably the only person who always write all bad things as clearly as I can.

And thank you very much :) So did I think that sale would be good idea to help them, that's why I proposed putting it on big sale in the first place. And I already told them about Tier 1 being useless with steam sale.

About changing rest of tiers... that's probably too late for doing it since lot of people already invested their own money.... sadly it is just as you said, lack of preparation for kickstarter campaign is backfiring. Dischan is making way too many simple mistakes… they should really get somebody that would help them with management and all business issues.

You know I read everything you wrote with SUCH A PLEASURE! I mean it! Because you are thinking exactly the same thing. Mimicking Doomfest should be their priority! Sequel of game shouldn’t have different art style! It’s like manga turning to comics without any reason.

Generally speaking most of people writing on group page and kickstarter are just being overly optimistic… it is kidna irritating, that’s why it is really nice feeling to see somebody else thinking exactly the same thing…

And so… why I am backing it? Dunno…. I kinda want to see sequel… but also at the same time I don’t want to if the artstyle will suck… some things are better left untold if the only option is to create average sequel.

Also 10 CAD is for me exactly the same as 5 Euros… but having thoughts like yours…. I don’t want to risk more than this… first I need to see sequel…

EDIT: Oh and ep2 and 3 are supposed to be much much longer

I get it,but no sequel is better than a bad sequel. Because you can still hope that one they they will pick it up and make a sequel as good as the original..but if they make a bad sequel, there is nothing to hope for anymore. I mean right now it looks like the only thing that will be good is the plot, but we can't even be sure about that, and also this is a visual novel, not a book. Graphics make a visual novel with mediocre script look good or bad. I'm not saying that the current artstyle is ugly, but it's not like the original, and the art is the only thing that made the original go from another attempt at a visual novel to something slightly notable. If the next episodes lack that people won't like them as much as the first.

Right now it looks like a campaign made by amateurs who are not sure about what exactly they are doing and how are they doing it. I mean, "Unlike episode 1, you will have control over where you go, who you talk to, and what you interact with" - so we have a new type of gameplay,a new perspective(on weekends),new artstyle.. How different are they going to make this from the original? People want more of the same thing, not fancy new mechanics. This is the most common mistakes developers make when doing sequels. There are SO MANY games with a good start but bad sequel..

They even said "We will likely restrain ourselves while making the second episode (to ensure that we'll have money for the next)". I mean, I appreciate the honesty, but you're doing something you haven't done before,on a tight schedule, and with limited budget you're not even sure will allow you to finish the second episode as you want it,not to mention have some breathing space if something goes wrong or things are slower than you expect. If I had to bet on it,I'd say there are more chances that in the end, instead of having something as good as the original they're going to have a rushed product, and then after seeing mixed/bad feedback for episode 2 they'll be disappointed and lose motivation causing episode 3 to also be bad.

So yeah,I'm not backing because I want them to pause/cancel their campaign, rethink about everything, get a lot of feedback, and then post something I'll happily put my money into. I'm sorry, but as things are right now,I don't think they're going to make a sequel I'll enjoy playing..

Yeah... that's why I'm kinda bipolar about it. I want it... but at the same time I don't want it. But becasuse they ARE amatours (just like you said too many mistakes) if they fail here, most probably it will be end for Dischan.

Even kickstarter campaign was idea of fans, but when they finnaly decided to go for kickstarter... they did it without talking to anyone.

But yeah I 100% agree with you. It is just gamble, and that is RISKY one... that's why only 10$ CAD from me.

Figured I'd post there something myself.. It's kind of funny how I'm not sure anymore if I want them succeed or fail this Kickstarter. They started out horrible but they're improving, and I think they may actually have a chance at doing it..

You know what? When other people make simple mistakes sometimes you just get this feeling that you should just try and help them. Maybe it is something like this...

Well they are slowly improving, which is good I guess. But sometimes it just feels like they are forgetting about whole feedback they got so far... and that makes you kinda angry.

I still get that feeling that I both: want them to succeed and at the same time I want to see them fail (because of fear that they will make bad game). And what will happen when kickstarter campaign ends? We won't have anythign to say then, now we can comment all updates... but that will change.

Like somebody else said "kickstarter" is kinda easy money.

Bumping for interest, because it's good to see a VN wich is not about panties, with excellent music and art (even if this one will change, in bad or good, dunno, wait and see). Some people complain about the writing ... I don't know, maybe it's because they played a translated version or are native english speaker. But I'm french, played it in english and I don't have anything to reproach dischan for their writing.

It's on the second tier which costs over $4 and the other bundle was over 200 days ago and it was for a minimum of $1.5.
If you only want it,99 cents is the lowest price it has been so far.
