Gift Activation Error (ANSWERED)

Sup!
I'm pretty new here and not sure what the protocols are with this stuff, but I won a draw for Capsized and the activation code I got doesn't work. The guy wants me to mark the gift as 'received' so he can 'send me another game'.
Don't mean to be paranoid but it smells a little off to me. What do?
(also sorry if this is the wrong place to put this :P)

Wait 7 days, if he doesn't give you a working one mark it as not received.

Make him send a code that works, otherwise don't mark as received. Simple as that.
