I support this great idea =) Portal is awesome, and I love this type of puzzles =) Also, I don't think it's necessary to limit the number of players - the players will limit themselves by not completing the puzzle levels =)
Count me in, please =)

I'd love to join. :) I have a copy of Portal 2 waiting to be installed, and having played Portal, I'd like to try out a few custom maps, especially if there's a giveaway at the end. :P
100 members sounds about right for now, judging by the fact that there are only about 55 comments in this thread so far.

I'd like an invite but I don't there should be a member limit. Frequently you'll be cutting down on entries purely due to people owning the game. You have a further restriction by requiring them to solve a puzzle in game. I think with a limit you're going to end up with a lot of 1 entrant giveaways

Iβd like to join and I have a suggestion:
Instead of all these rules:
don't rate or comment a map on the workshop untill the giveaway is over!
don't give them names like [Giveaway] or [Gift]
*only provide informations to your map on the group page
You could use this one:
*The author should hide a half of the giveaway code in the test chamber and publish the other half in the group.
This way people from outside the group can find these maps and enjoy them, but they wonβt gain access to hidden giveaways.
And an open group would be ideal IMHO.

Hiding the giveaway is not the problem as long as you just put codes in the map and don't put a link to the puzzle in the maps name, description or comments. If you want to hide maps from the general public, set its availability to friends only and share the link with the group as direct linking grants access to your items even if you are not friends.
But I agree, not commenting or rating maps that are publicly available sounds like an unnessessary burden to me. Comments should be free of spoilers and stuff of course, but I don't see why we should disallow them for the time being. After all, authors have the right to delete comments to their work on steam as well. And on public maps and a large number of people in the group it can get quite cumbersome to track if a comment has been left by a peer or a stranger.

I'd like to join! I love solving maps and maybe I'll create one in the future if I will be able to give something away.

So, since I didn't make any restrictions about creating a giveaway, my group became very silent..
Is there anyone (inside or outside the group) who wants to make a giveaway?(:
I'll make one too, as soon as I find a good, but not to expensive game (not Alan Wake, everyone already has it..) because I'm currently out of Steam Wallet money and don't have a credit card. Also I'm still not sure wether I should use the hard version of my previous map or wait untill the new one is finished(:

I've been thinking about something like that for a while now..
So, would anyone be interrested in such a group?
if yes, here are some rules I'm thinking of:
-every giveaway you make has to be hidden in a portal 2 map (is this even possible for a group giveaway?)
-you can give every game (if there is an area restriction, please say that before!) also, say which game it is
-you don't HAVE to make a giveaway, but it is recommended (but take your time to comment productively)
-don't give hints, except you are the autor
-don't be an a**hole(:
-you need Portal 2 (how could I forget that?)
-private-giveaways only:
-only put a part of the code on the map, post the rest in the private section.
These rules should prevent the maps from being found by non-group members.
There is a group now, If you still have any suggestions feel free to comment(:
Thank you, great community:D
EDIT: I'm inviting now - NEW RULES ADDED!
