you can generate codes for your friends using 50 points

I have to agree with Kennyist as well. A lot of my friends have to get jobs (we're still relatively young teenagers) while studying like crazy for school and it'd be nice to give them some relief by getting them a game they can enjoy in their spare time. It's there points anyway like you said.

Hmmm. Good point. Even if the game was cheaper than 50 points, it'd be better to just stock up for the invite. Now I'm conflicted about which side I should take...

I suppose the points system has remedied that. If someone bothered to enter for a game they already own, then at least the game will go to a friend who will play it.

Honestly, I think people who own the game to which they applied, should NOT get chance to get it.
I can understand that you want a extra copy to offer to your best friend, but, for that, there's steamgifts. Perhaps the best way would be to offer your friend not only a game but a invitation to steamgifts where you could get the possibility to win the most variant type of games. ;)

I don't like people entering a game for games they already own. I'm suspicious enough to think they will sell and not gift the extra copy. So if someone refuses to gift the copy to the winner that already owns it, will his "Percent Received by Users" get lowered?

I believe he can report it to a mod and have it re'roll for another winner, e.g. pm cg or cult or the 3rd guy, sorry forgot his name.

You can't accept dlcs for games you don't have. So don't gift it. Message cg and he can delete/ reroll the giveaway.

Last giveaway for Terraria - http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/ixlrr/terraria
Winner have Terraria. That's really pathetic.

I'm sure he'll give the extra copy away. Don't go all hatin' on one person who already has Terraria.
You gave away FREE POLISH DARK MESSIAH keys, so that makes you a hypocrite.

FFS stop complaining about that I'm giving free keys. I'm not selling them. And I will not make another giveaway because that's againts FAQ now. I cant sell invites neither because thats against FAQ too. But know what? Entering giveaways for games that you already have is ALSO AGAINST THE RULES. Why the fuck I should follow the general rules here when everybody around do not give a fuck about them?

not after it's ended. I'll post above what he can do.

Please message CG at inbox@steamgifts.com Explain what has happened. He will either reroll the giveaway to a new winner, or delete and refund points so the Giver can start the giveaway again. Also having the giver email CG inbox@steamgifts.com is recommended.

So basically if someone spends money on themselves, they shouldn't be allowed to give away a game to a friend of their own? How does that make sense? Face it, the only reason you are upset is because you did not win. Believe it or not, this happens in the real world all the time for all sorts of things, but it's not always possible to see whether someone does or does not already own the items when we're talking non-digital. How does spending money constitute ineligibility? It all goes to someone that doesn't already own a game anyhow, whether it was someone that entered directly or one of their friends. Stop whining, stop bitching.

and it is frowned upon and against the rules. Anyone who suspects their gift being given away to a different account than the winner should report to inbox@steamgifts.com
