For anyone interested. It's NOT for Steam, it's rarely on sale (last time was 1 year and 2 months ago for only 50% off), and might only be afaik is sold only on GG these days digitally. ROTK is a classic strategy game going back to early PC's and consoles. The series only went up to number XII. XI was the last one released in English.

I once pirated a Romance of the three kingdoms and i enjoyed it quite a LOT. How does the DRM work for this game?

Direct download from Gamersgate. Comes with installer, serial key, and Securom DRM. Still the only existing legal digital version of a ROTK game on PC as far as I know.

I haven't used securom. Does it have a limit in the number of activations? I pirated the game because i thought there were no digital stores from which i could buy... i feel kinda dumb

Could you answer one more question? Let's say that i reach the activation limit in 4 years. Could i contact securom or gamersgate to "reset" my activations?

Thank you, i also evade activation limits like a plague but i want to support this game which has given me a few hours of fun. I don't like to pirate games since i ,luckily, can afford them ^^
Because of your comment i ended up buying the game!

From the FAQ linked by Movac:
"How many times can I download and/or install my games?

Any game bought on GamersGate is yours to download and install as many times you like. Some games are protected with an activation limit, but that limit is easily reset with an email to support@gamersgate.com"

If this was officer mode like ROTK VII was then I'd be all over it, but it doesn't look like it is.

So what kind of game is that, like Total War games?

It doesn't play like total war games, this game focuses more on micromanagement and supply routes, the game is also slow paced, it takes dozens of turns to do something.

It's a Three Kingdoms-themed grand strategy game.
