Does Frank Klepacki still work at Petroglyph? If no, they should hire him independently to remaster his old soundtracks. And to do a Hell March 4 for good measure.

I'm quite stoked that this is going on. I really hope that this will turn out nice and sells well, especially since this is without microtransactions so the folks in the respective business department find out that quality is more important than those stupid transactions.
btw: no need here for the ultimate edition, got all of them already

Eh, but will it be steam?
Nah I'm kidding. This is potentially good news. If the original guys are genuinely involved, they will hopefully have the sense to not break what already worked so well and instead focus on making it work nicely on new systems. I loved these games growing up, cheesy FMV and all.
EDIT: and thanks for the gib opportunity, but C and C collection is about one of the only things I actually own on Origin.

Yay! I still haven't played all the C&C titles but this is really interesting as I really like RTS and I feel the genre has been underrepresented. I wish someone also remastered the KKND games. Also someone make Dark Reign and 7th Legion work on Windows 10 please :/

sadly remaster, not a remake
there is a difference
it would be nice to have a real remake like upcoming resident evil 2 or final fantasy 7

Totally unnecessary.
The biggest problem with Command & Conquer and Red Alert today aren't the graphics, but the obsolete and outdated, simplistic gameplay. Forget nostalgia: it's not Baldur's Gate or Fallout, that's still fun to play after all those years, these are only so called 'real-time strategy games' that require absolutely 0 strategic skills (try to compare them to the Total War series, lol). Make a new game instead.

REMASTERED YES!!
botched overhyped which didnt deliver and in the end scrapped. pls no
after the last general being scrapped, i hope now EA actually deliver
btw i also hope they reinstall their FPS C&C (not renegade, but other FPS which cancelled)
it's almost 100%, just ready for shipment and yet ea cancelled it (like starcraft ghost)

"EA has suspended work on Tiberium effective immediately. The game was not on track to meet the high quality standards set by the team and by the EA Games Label. A lower quality game is not in the best interest of the consumers and would not succeed in this market."
Well, that must really mean something, because hey, it was modern day EA who said that xP

Nah, that was EA a decade ago, who made the effort to rescue Burnout, founded Visceral Games as a more independent studio, got TimeSplitters 3 published etc. Modern day EA would just throw it on the market to fill the yearly FPS slot on the release roster.

Just the first one? hmmmm I wonder if they'll patch the sandbag bug..... you used to be able to build sandbags to block the AI they wouldn't destory the bags just stop. So I'd build sandbags like a snake to their base and literally block them in. Then just build up a massive army and desotry them! They'd stop building more units since they had "X" amount that didn't die so I guess it was programmed like that?
Red Alert the first time I tired that the AI went "lul fuck that" and destroyed it. So I actually had to "get gud"

I really wonder how much of a remaster it can be. According to the GOG people (in their 10 year documentary) it is very rare to be able to find all of the source code and assets when it comes to companies that closed down some time ago.
It'll be really interesting to see the end product.

I like C&C a lot. I still play red alert 2 once in a while. Just a skirmish for fun.
I don't really know about a remastered version. Personally I would prefer them to fix the old versions to run normally on the new windows versions. I had to use third party fixes to get red alert 2 to work and it still doesn't work perfect. Since they still sell the games, they should at least make them working.
(I won't be entering the giveaway since I already have the collection. But thanks anyway :) )

Message from Joe Bostic!!!
I was extremely skeptical when they first announced something about this a while back, but I absolutely did not see the partner with Petroglyph games coming at all. I'm super pumped some of the original team from Westwood is involved with this. This is EA though, so it's completely possible they will find a way to fuck this up, but I'm holding my breath this is going to turn out amazing.
If we can ONLY get Joe Kucan involved somehow, I will have a freakout.
Also, for kicks and giggles, I'll give away a copy of Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection for those who post here. I'll write all your names down on little slips of paper, draw one out of a magician's hat and then deliver the game through Steam. So, accept my friend request if you win. Giveaway ends on November 23 at some point.Winner!
