aka, what should I read? I asked for book recommendations in a group giveaway recently, and was pleased with the suggestions. As an extension of that, I'd like to hear what y'all are reading... so I can go look those books up too. I've been blessed with the twin gifts of a short attention span, and a powerful memory; I tend to read several books concurrently. What about you?

Well I'm not reading anything right now but my recommendations are "Reaper Man", "Soul Music" and "I shall wear Midnight" by Terry Pratchet. I also recommend Warhammer40k The Horus Heresy books if you love Grim-dark novels.

Cheers.

Going with the whole Witcher saga (currently on "Baptism of Fire") while waiting for my library to get back G.Martin's "Clash of Kings" :)

You can laugh but I'm currently in the process of reading through Harry Potter series. Never did it before, though I've seen most of the movies :P

What could I recommend.. Pratchett, Adams, Tolkien, Martin? But you must've heard about them. What about Farseer Trilogy and other books by Robin Hobb? Sapkowski for The Witcher?

I tend to agree, however, not exactly being a teenager anymore, I take a great care not to display the covers too prominently whenever I pull out one of these out of my bag to read during a commute :) Though they definitely get darker and more mature as the series progresses.

Yeah I really loved The Name of the Wind, a Wise Man's Fear was good but I don't think it was nearly as good as the first, still worth getting though for sure.
