nope, happens to everyone and it would be blant chaos if everyone knew who blacklisted them.

I new about the invite only's (not out of experience, but from puzzle threads and such, "test here if you are blacklisted or not before you begin")
Another way of confirming, is going too the profile of the one you suspect of blacklisting you and to try opening one of the GA that are in the profile I guess :D but that is a kinda a waste of time in my opinion :)
Thanks for the help!

of course: if you see your blacklist counter rising up, you will know: its cause of this thread^^
people blacklist for everything... especially for blacklist threads as i have learned^^
if you know, who you blacklisted, you can ask them^^
Comment has been collapsed.
you not thanked not even one single giveaway you won. being like that, you'll probably get some more blacklist soon.
that's probably the reason.. (or any other random reason out there, because, you know, people will be people.)
Comment has been collapsed.
This is probably it... Not everyone would care you didn't thank them, but someone probably has. Only takes 2 seconds after activating to go back and say thanks dude...
Comment has been collapsed.
I see this more and more recently, and it's absolutely ridiculous and needs to end.
It's possible to say thanks via steam, or in reply to the key email. I've thanked everyone I've won a game from, but if you go back to some of my wins, it doesn't look like it. That's because I thank people through whatever way they give me the key.
In other words, checking for something like this is stupid, and blacklisting over it is even stupider. And honestly, posting something like this should probably count as calling out too, since it just encourages witch hunts over imaginary offenses. It almost feels like a meme response - "Oh, you didn't thank every single person through the one public channel I can see? Well fuck you then, you're a piece of shit and I'm blacklisting you too." It's just too over-the-top ignorant to even be real.
And if I pissed anyone off by calling out this type of comment as bullshit, blacklist away. The beauty of blacklists is that they don't require a good reason, or even a bad reason. Everyone is free to do whatever they want with them. But just keep in mind that this kind of "internet detective" thinly-veiled accusation of something that may not even be true is the exact shitty behavior the "no calling out" rule was designed to prevent, and I honestly think it needs to stop.

+1, this is exactly as I read vinirockman's post too
Comment has been collapsed.
I disagree, because he said "you'll probably get some more blacklist soon"
Given that he also went out of his way to check for thanks comments and share that information with everyone, it sounds a lot like he was encouraging other people to blacklist over not saying thanks. And even if that wasn't his intent, he did a damn good job of it by accident.

"you'll probably get some more blacklist soon"
It could also be read that this was a warning that they will be added to more blacklists tf they carry on taking gifts without thanking for them. That was my interpretation.
Given that he also went out of his way to check for thanks comments and share that information with everyone
The OP asks if it is possible to see why someone is blacklisting them. Whilst it isn't directly possible this is a way of indirectly checking. It could also be taken to be the vinirockman' trying to actually help the OP figure out why they are on so many BLs .. If that is the case I think its sad that someone gets villified for trying to help someone out but I guess that's typical of the internet :(

i absolutely agree with everything you said. this whole witch hunt thing is getting out of hand lately.
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree... a simple plain thank you is not that welcome though... try to comment something else.
I don't see much problem in blacklist system because I don't care and I like to find people who blacklisted me to blacklist back... feels like a treasure hunting. besides the fact that I don't care, I agree that blacklist should be both ways (this tend to ruin the fun of my treasure hunt).

Or they could have thanked off site. If someone adds me on steam to send a gift I'll usually thank them in steam chat rather than on the giveaway page here. Not saying that is the case but playing Nancy Drew and pointing out stuff like that will only end up with people being unfairly blacklisted.
Comment has been collapsed.
that's why I usually recommend to not use open threads to ask some things... you may discover what was the reason and get some more blacklists...
Comment has been collapsed.
Except what you was pointing out might not have been the reason at all. They could have added the gifter on steam and thanked them there, they could have thanked them here in a thread if there was one linked to a puzzle/private giveaway or they could have replied to an email containing the key sent by the gifter. That you can't see the thanks doesn't mean they aren't there.
Having pointed out that they haven't thanked means others reading your post likely will blacklist them without considering the other options.

did you read the op's request? what you are saying is right but doesn't make sense in this thread... (edit: I also did use the word probably in my first reply... we may talking about the same thing in a different point of view.)

Anyone can blacklist another person for whatever reason. As long as the person doesn't tell you, you'll never know why. Unless there are obvious reasons like rulebreaking or bad behaviour.
Comment has been collapsed.
cant see who, just how many....
in the end there is no telling why your blacklisted..
everyone has there own reasons
Comment has been collapsed.
happened the same....i think some people blaklist winners to prevent to win again :S

That's to avoid retaliation.
I have also been blacklisted, and I doooon't knoooow why! And I doooon't knoooow why!

Welcome to the internet, where people hate for no reason at all.
Comment has been collapsed.
I wasn't complaining, I was just wondering why. ;)
It' my first entry on a BL, so I'm not a pro like you seem to be... ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
How do you know how much people have blacklisted you?
Comment has been collapsed.
OK, thx for the input! ^^
It really might be because I never said thx after winning a GA...
It's because I don't care if anybody says thx to me after winning one of my GAs as well... :D
btw I'm on 1 blacklist only ;)

Still only 1?
You might want to close the thread, there are people who will blacklist you for blacklist threads.

Usually, blacklists are for no serious reason at all. So, no need to give a damn about it. If you ever find out who blacklisted you, just blacklist him back and that's all. But your one mere blacklist is far smaller than the blacklists most of us have. xD
Comment has been collapsed.
All this because of 1 blacklist?
Someone doesn't like you.
Theyre probably not important.
Just move on.
For all we know they may be angry because they couldn't enter a GA of yours.
Comment has been collapsed.
Dont worry about that! There is "haters" everywhere on the internet, just ignore and carry on :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, all I can say is that it was not buy me. I even entered one of yous GA's. :)

got blacklisted by almost 76 people XD not sure if its because of my ratio or because i did something that upset a lot of people but okay
Comment has been collapsed.
Probably the ratio and the giveaway where the person marked 'not received'.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, there isn't a way to see who has blacklisted you. You could go detective mode and try to find out. Don't worry about it as people usually blacklist for dumb reasons.
I introduced my friend to SG a week ago and helped him make a giveaway in the discussions. Within 10 minutes someone had blacklisted him purely because he made a giveaway. (He had registered 5mins before making the giveaway). I was unaware that making giveaways was such an offense.
I think in your case you would have been blacklisted because you haven't thanked any of the people you have won giveaways off.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can't know if he thanked them or not. For example, when I won a steam gift once, I thanked the giveaway creator through steam chat, not in his giveaway.
Comment has been collapsed.
Of course not, but you can use the fact that he has won 14 games (most of them bundled - meaning he would have most likely gotten a key) and on those 14 giveaways there is no expression of gratitude by him, to come to the conclusion that he most likely has not thanked them.
