I entered a giveaway for Worms Golf and won. The key didn't show in the won items category so I attempted to contact the gifter through the giveaway comment section. After 24 hrs the notification and game shown won is missing. I have photos to show I've won but not sure on what to do next.

Help/suggestions?

Sounds like you were re-rolled or the giveaway was deleted. Next step is to live your life.

What constitues a re-roll? I haven't broken any rules and only attempted twice to contact the gifter as to not spam him disrespectfully. I feel pretty cheated :(

The giveaway creator has 7 days to send the key, you shouldn't contact him before then.

Yeesh, i should have rerolled the guy who had won the giveaway I did then. He was brash and disrespectful because I couldn't get a key to him immediately afterwords.

I had only left a comment on how we would communicate for the key. There was no key included in the 'gifts won' catagory.

The key only shows there when he sends it, not as soon as the giveaway ends.

I've had a previous win yhat included a key with the recieved/not recieved button to be clicked. This time around, the key was blank with only the option to select recieved

Probably because the gifter send it right away then, doesn't mean this one has to do the same. You only see the key when the gifter sends it and he can send it anytime during those 7 days, doesn't have to be right away.

Just to be precise: it could also be a gift or the gifter might prefer to give the key through chat or email.

True, could be that as well.

I guess this would make the most sense. However, just pulling the rug from underneath without a notification or some notice feels unjust.

Clearly. I'm a huge fan of the Worms series. Just bummed out.

I was a member of the group during the roll and before any rule changes would have taken place. Seems unfair to apply retroactively :/

Generally the giveaway creator has to provide proof (screenshot from the group's history page) that a member left the group before the giveaway ended.
You can make a support ticket if you're sure you were still in the group when the giveaway ended, and see if that changes anything...

There is not a single notification saying I was kicked from said group. Also, if I weren't in said group, why would it allow me to enter?

Allows you to enter after you have been kicked, since steamgifts syncs once a week, unless you do it manually.

No need for sarcasm, I'm only trying to figure out what is happening when this goes down. I've only been here for a month trying to learn the ropes.

You get a notification on your Steam Invites page. It'll list at the bottom.

Entering giveaways while no longer in a group is taken rather poorly by many, as it's a pretty scummy thing to do. Certainly, in your case it may have been a pure accident, but that still makes the matter more likely one of 'I accidentally did something I oughtn't have', rather than 'I got mistreated'.

If you're not comfortable with having to keep tabs on groups for those kinds of things, then you should avoid entering groups with special conditions involved around them.
Flip side, yes, some of those groups are actually legitimately scummy, letting people join the giveaway and then kicking them so that only the person they want to win wins, but they still get CV credit for the giveaway.
Both circumstances are things to consider when joining groups.

I don't have internet so notifications pop infrequently all at once or not at all. I wasn't trying to enter under a guise of fooling/cheating anyon & I can understand why it's looked upon poorly if taken to use in advantage.

I'll certainly keep check on what groups I am a part in to make sure my tickets are legit and fair. I think this is a great idea and community and hope to learn as I gain more information from everyone.

Were you kicked out of the group before the giveaway end? Or after?

I have no idea. I was invited into the group since I fit the guidelines. Afterwords the rules changed and I was retroactively removed without notification.

You should have gotten a steam notification when you were kicked.

I don't have internet besides using my phone. Steam doesn't send notifications on my PC without internet connection.

Very seldomly. If the notifications pop on the app, I can use it for future reference. Thank you

He was kicked before. From my experience if member was in group when giveaway started you can't reroll if he is kicked in meantime and you must give him the game. However if member is not part of the group and enter/win ga(and not sync acc) you can reroll him

I think he means SteamGifts guidelines, where you're not supposed to enter giveaways for groups you're no longer part of. :P

As far as group rules, again, that's a component of any group. That's not a SteamGifts related thing in any way, that's just an outcome of the structure of groups. If you enter any rule-based group, you're going to have to keep tabs on that group. If that's a bother, simply join the 'everyone joins, woo!' groups, and you won't have issues.
