It is quite hard to have a nuanced discussion about these kind of issues because it is easy to get heated in the wrong way. Also it is easy to bundle people as "my side" or "other side" even when their opinions are just less radical. What makes it more difficult is that a lot of people don't have a good understanding of how statistics and models work. Even a simple stat of Gender wage gap has much more factors to consider in the context--whether it is compared within industry or not has an effect; whether certain things are selective have an effect; even if certain factors are selective it is important to think about what makes people select in such a way (such as lack of mentors or existing environment), and whether as a society it would be better to at least temporarily change those factors or not.

My comment in thread XYZ was not top one and was not getting as much attention as I wanted, so let's make separate thread linking to said comment. Only thing that it does (beside showing how senslessly self-centered you are) is generating spam. How many comments were there in original thread ? Over 500. So now imagine if there was not just one self-centered person who gotta get more spotlight but all commenters would feel this way. A single topic would spam the whole forum for few pages, because it would generate few hundreds other topics.

There is that and the fact that despite my thread having no content and being closed... he is still linking it. What I would have done is seen it was closed and pasted the comment back on this thread and remove the thread link. There is no purpose linking to an empty thread on "another subject"

People have pointed out, as the comment is an answer, it better fit in the original thread. It's not my fault if you decided to close it and wipe everything. For someone concerned by male suicide, it's even a strange reaction, to have close debates, especially after I showed that I was supporting the existence of the issue.
Also, I came across a really interesting comment, which I'm not gonna link, since 1rst, it's not really well seen apparently to link comments, and 2nd because I don't want to drag this person into the conversation. But it was really fitting to your post edit.

If you wanted to post a reply to topic after thread was closed - totally fine, you didn't get your chance to have your voice heard (no matter if I agree with you or not, everyone deserve a chance to present their opinions) - but you presented your opinion, but somehow you believe your opinion to be sopo much more valuable that others that it deserves it's own thread driving attention to your particular comment, because it's sooo much worth it than all other hundreds of comments. You know as well as I do, that purpose of this thread is not to post a nice GA, GA was used as an excuse to post something which in itself is utterly pointless. People post their opinions on SG all the time? sure they do. And so did OP. And so did tens of other users in said thread. So why is OPs opinion the only one deserving so much more attention than all other hundreds of opinions? Because I don't see all other people creating threads "hew, go there to look at my comment, because it deserves more attention". Whether you agree or disagree with OPs opinion here is meaningless, what is important that if you agree on such a form of discussion (allowing OP to create separate topic just to drive attention to his comment) you shopuld also allow whoever else from said topic do the same. and it would crewwate not only even more toxic envirement that we have now, but would actually drive forums utterly useless (said topic could generate spam to cover first few pages of entire forums).

you directly link to your comment in another thread where said comment is not a lone statement of your opinion (in this case it could maybe be another topic discussing this tipe not her statement but your won views/opinions) but rather a direct response to said thread. There is thus no reason for you (other than your own self-centreness) to create a separate topic fot that, if said separated topic is not really separate at all, as it's meaningless without a context of original thread.
I do not see people posting their opinions on forume (whether I agree with them or not) as spamming forum, SG has opinion discussions for a long long time already. I am not saying your threead is a spam, because you post your opinion, or because it can generate shitposting in response. I am saying it's a spam, because you are not really creating an opinion-discussion thread, all you do is creating a thread linking to your opinion comment in context of other thread, and only reason for that is because it didn't get as much attention as you wanted.
