Steam direct, so far, doesn't seem to be reducing the trash that gets put on the store at all.
I just finished setting my hidden SG games to "not interested" on the Steam store, all 8000 of them, which took roughly weeks. Ugh, so much junk.

Tried like 20 different answers for the new puzzle, no dice. Thanks anyways though :)

Thank you again, Fiftykyu for your nice giveaways and have a bump! :-)
Greenlight was a failure because Valve thought it would be ok if they wouldn't control it and Direct hasn't got to a good start because Valve didn't want or dare to make the fee at least 500$ a game.

Yeah, $100 just wasn't enough... But I don't know the solution... :( Guess if it were easy, even Valve would have stumbled over it by now... :)
I thinik if you've decided you're not going to curate the store, your options are kinda limited... Like good businessmen Valve went with the "invisible hand" choice, and of course it immediately flipped them the bird...
Try your luck in the new puzzle! :)

Thank you for your new puzzle and giveaways! :-)
Your puzzle has cracked me instead of the other way around. ^^

Have a bump.
Steam Direct didn't really change anything about the massive amount of trash games, but I like that they are trying to fix it (like with the new trading card system).
Sorry for making baby Jesus cry.

I'm not sure they are trying to fix it... Or, I'm not sure they are trying to fix the things we'd like them to fix... :)
I might think the problem is the store's full of crap, but they probably think the problem is they have to do too much non-hat-related work. :)
Try the new puzzle! :)

Oh crap, I think I'm a cylon, that explains why I always fail captchas !

I've never really looked into Steam direct, and it confuses me to read that they actually verify your game before accepting it onto the Steam store. How and why in the world do (seemingly) every game gets accepted? For example, how did the most recent crap "meme game" Hentai got accepted, if only to be removed after a few days?
What is the point of accepting games onto Steam if whoever is in charge can't tell a "real" game from an asset-flipping, meme moneygrab, shit show of a "game"?

I think they are going to check the game doesn't crash, and doesn't have any virus. Probably via automation, since they are otherwise too busy polishing their money or whatever it is Valve do nowadays... :)
I assume there's no decision about the quality of the "game" since they are running as fast as they can in the opposite direction... Oh well...
Try the new puzzle! :)

Eh, I don't do puzzles much. I just wanted to share my two cents. ^^

Bruh, you sure like to write type, took me a while to read everything. No bump for you.
Wait, this is a bump... Crap, my plan failed! Retreat!

Scripts should not be used to automatically enter into giveaways. This includes scripts that enter multiple giveaways at once, or scripts that enter giveaways while you are away.
That's not even a question, ...

Wut? Monsters! But yeah card farmers and +1-ers are kind of lamentable. Though I don't mind as much if the games are terrible anyway, but not the better games that actually are fun to play (at least for some). Still like your original GA's ^^ Also commendable that you respond to every reply :O

There's a lot of games in my library where I feel bad for getting the trading cards... :) Not the crappy bundle games I was never intending to play, but the "real games" I bought to play, but somehow didn't (yet) ... :( But since I always sell any foil cards, it's better to idle everything quickly before the prices go down... :) Oh well...
Well, I stop replying eventually... :) And the way the multiple pages thing works I'm always overlooking a comment here or there... :( Hope it's not too many this time... :)

Steam direct won't solve anything. Valve would need to implement proper control over what they allow into their shop.
And then remove ~15k junk pieces of crap that's call itself "game" and is put there for 1$ just to earn money from cards or achievements. Shop is pretty much unusable right now, so in near future it will be completely unusable.

Oh, I actually put it in the correct category this time, i.e. FREE STUFF INSIDE, CLICK HERE. You're welcome. :)
There's another puzzle added, so look around for it. It's in here somewhere... Umm, try reading or something. That link you didn't click on yet? Yeah, it's probably that one.
Hey, the weekend's coming. And I have no plans, but after reading the amazing topic I couldn't resist throwing some money away on random Level 5 humans to celebrate. Yay! :) You can imagine I pasted a bunch of celebration-related gifs in here, because I'm too lazy to hunt them up. Hooray for imagination! :)
Sorry, it's just a few cheap ones, because I'm cheap too. Oh well. And lately, Level 5 costs like $1 at Bundle Stars, so if that's too high, just spend a buck and go create a hundred crappy bundle junk giveaways, there's bound to be a few people who didn't buy all that stuff yet... :)
Obligatory Skyrim Rap: Gods be praised
Obligatory difficult anti-bot puzzle
OBLIGATORY MORE FREE STUFF protected by an even more difficult puzzle
Super-obligatory hint because some idiot set the hint timer wrong: COPY AND PASTE, PEOPLE! Sorry! :)
Good luck, humans! :)
Be sure to bump this when you solve the puzzle. Or umm, ok I don't care if it gets bumped. And bumps just reduce your chances, and we don't want that, do we? Let's just hope it dies in a couple hours.
Good luck, human! :)
So, as you're a human, you can read this dumb question which is probably just an excuse for me to bump the topic after people forget about it:
What do you think about the replacement for greenlight, Steam Direct? All I can think of is reductio ad absurdum, i.e. Valve's anti-curation taken to its logical conclusion. Soon the Steam store will contain 1000 real games, buried under a million pieces of game-shaped garbage. Good luck finding anything you'd ever want to play. No shortage of +1s for the game-collecting lunatics, though... :)
p.s. I was going to make a Skyrim giveaway, but the store's been saying Processing Payment for the last 15 minutes so never mind. Hopefully I will remember to check that tab next week or something... Sorry gang... :)
