So you're saying that the person who put the time and effort into writing the very best script doesn't deserve to get any reward?

I don't really care, I just don't like ppl posting keys that are already dups.

I think not, the people is even faster, and the first to pick up are usually those who criticize when it has ninjas: P

Desura keys, unlike Steam keys, show you who redeemed them if you try to redeem a duplicate key. Desura keys that have been dropped here were seen to have all been activated (I mean every single key in the drop, they scraped them all) by a Desura account which was linked to a Steam account which had an account here which had been perma-banned for some untoward behavior or other.

So, yes, there are people, even people who have been banned here for being scumbags, who use scripts to scrape the forum for keys, and if you do a key drop here, there's a good chance one of them will get it. You'll never get a thanks because they can't even log in to post one, because they're banned. They probably wouldn't bother thanking anyway, though, all things considered.

So, unless you just like giving your keys to asshats, you shouldn't drop them in the forum at all, or, if you do, you should at least do something to defeat scripts, like spelling out numbers and removing hyphens and perhaps using the international radio alphabet, or posting an image of the key, or anything but posting the raw key in its usual format. I've warned people about this for a long time now, but nobody really seems to listen.

And then? Scripters will find out about OCR sooner or later.

one thing you can do is have people message you for the keys. then most scripts will not work
