Recently, I've been impersonated in steamtrades. Everyone was kind enough to hear what I had to say, but by the third or fourth time I was discussing it, I decided to make this informative picture that should help. I hope it helps you guys too. Feel free to repost it!

How about a few private giveaways to promote both this tutorial and my trade thread?

I only ask you share the topic instead.

Thanks for sharing, even though I'll probably never trade anything on Steam

How not to get scammed:
ALWAYS double check who you trade with.

Honestly, I don't think a "how to find out if you've been scammed" guide is helpful because then it already happened and won't get you your game back. If you want to make a guide that's helpful then make a guide on how to PREVENT being scammed in the first place like your title actually suggests.

"How to find out if you've been scammed"

turns into

"How to prevent being scammed"

if you do it before the trade instead.

Also it's a quick and easy step by step anyone can follow instead of finding their own way of doing it.

See? Actually useful.
