this was happening to me, till i stopped using refresh button and instead started opening the same link in a new tab.

FYI to the web devs, following the Post Redirect Get design pattern will resolve this issue. It sounds like it's a PRG-related issue, and thus it's odd to hear that it supposedly only affects Chrome.

Chrome is overrated, seriously. I tried it, and it sucks. Also uses a lot of my ram for every tab i open, way more than Mozilla. A good alternative to Chrome is Dragon by Comodo (the guys that also make one of the best firewalls and antiviruses). You should try that out.

Yep, Happens to me. I thought it was my internet being slow.

I prefer WaterFox, though it's still a lot slower than Chrome and freezes up quite a bit more. It's just plain a FF issue. I love FF more than Chrome, but FF is slower and, even worse, the freezes are terrible. FF Aurora[AKA alpha] is quite nice though, and is noticeably faster than the current FF.

This is true, once I realized this, I changed to FF.

The new Internet Explorer 10 actually isn't too bad.
Firefox (also Waterfox, the 64-bit Firefox) is very stable, doesn't eat as much RAM as Chrome.
Opera is only for people who know how to use it properly, it is not buggy or slow. It's actually faster than Chrome for me. Also Opera Turbo is an option! (PS: Privacy is a big part of Opera IMO.)
There are other browsers out there, for example Maxthon, it doesn't have too many add-ons aside from a basic Adblocker and some other simple add-ons.
If Chrome is the best for something, I'd say for HTML5 support, but HTML5 isn't such a necessity yet.

Chrome users have been asked to make sure there is no double post, and its just common sense to understand why starting with courtesy...
I'm using SRWare Iron, Opera and Waterfox...
I still pay attention to not see it happen even during those laggy moments we had lately with the website, and we all should no matter the browser used, even if one in particular was pointed at, how come this thread became a kindergarten battle involving "my browser is better than yours ?" (for a quite decent part of its whole content).
There is something I'm missing somewhere, allow me to question myself and others...

Actually, I had this happen to me yesterday and I don't use Chrome and wasn't even refreshing the page. It just posted two comments for some weird reason as if I did. I deleted the second one, of course. But this definitely isn't just Chrome users or caused by refreshes. Yes, many could likely be cut down by people being smart about what they click and having the decency to delete the excess when they see it happen, but it's not just browser related, something else is also potentially causing duplicate comments to be posted.

This isn't about the odd double post here and there. There have been several instances of 10-20 or more duplicate comments, and people were being reported for spamming, so I posted this to try and curb both the accidental duplication and the reporting.

We're seeing a lot of complaints in support about people spamming comments multiple times. This seems to be linked to Chrome re-submitting comments when one refreshes a page after posting a comment. If you use Chrome, make sure you do something like click the thread title, giveaway comments link, etc. after making a comment if you're going to be refreshing the page. Likewise, it would be good etiquette to delete such duplicate comments if you do make a mistake. Thank you.
