Deponia is one i really want to play as well, and I was doubting of adding it to the list this month but I think I prefer the more fantasy world setting of the others.

You should definitely give Night of the Rabbit a chance if you like that sort of games, the story is incredibly magical and its set in such an interesting world with all kinds of weird and silly characters

I'm thinking of starting with one of these three, hoping that I might finish it. (This certification program is even more intense than I expected--I have almost literally no free time.)
Agent Awesome: You don't drink during the game, but the whole plot is the result of a drunken dare (which you see in the title sequence). Would that count? (If not, I believe it would qualify using the HLTB completetionist time.)
Battle for Orion 2: I'd like to submit this as 8+ hours to complete, based solely on my progress so far. (It took 81 minutes to complete 4 of 24 missions. 6 * 81 = 486 minutes = 8 hours, plus a bit because the later missions are bound to be harder and longer.)
Planets Under Attack: (Again. Maybe third time's the charm?) Completionist run is 38 hours according to HLTB, but I will only be aiming to finish the campaign.

Ugh, well this is a first. Submit a random game you own and have no intention of playing this month on the site with a note saying that it is replacing Twisted Lands Trilogy and that will be used for the number count (and therefore being able to enter the giveaways). As for the playtime I will just edit it manually in the leaderboard at the end of the month. While not ideal I guess that should be a good enough workaround?

I guess an option where instead of actually picking a game you can just select something like "removed game" and fill in a name should also work? And considering this is the first time it is a problem in 5 months just leaving it like this is not the end of the world either :)

It looks more complicated to me, to be honest. The project architecture is built on the idea that game id is a required field for the event entry, so this adjustment would require some workaround for that (and not messing with existed, or not existed yet, steam IDs) and also some changes in a lot of places.
The "manual add" thingie is easier and feels like a more right thing to do - this way it should be possible to track playtime\achievements (I didn't test it, but I'm pretty sure it should work).
The console command would require you to have only the game ID, which can be found in the user statistics if they played the game recently, or on steamdb, like this.
Maybe we will think of a better idea (maybe add all removed games at once, if it's possible somehow), it needs some thinking and testing, but we will do something in the end ^^

Don't think you can track playtime in a proper way for those. From what I remember doing some testing (on games being banned by Valve from the store) a while back you can kinda see it was played by getting the playtime from the past 2 weeks but it will return the wrong playtime. But it has been awhile so I might be wrong. Achievements should work tho.

I found the end very weird... unsuitable? Nah, wrong word. It's an OK option, but I suppose I was just waiting for something else.
However, the whole experience is unique, and I was really enjoying the visuals and listening to the voices. I think it's quite hard to create a story about overcoming something which will hold you all the way and make you feel it. They've done the right balance. Yep life is all about DLCs, micro transactions and loot boxes and you need multiple playthroughs to get all achievements 😉

Sadly we only have one life (aka one playthrough) and the worst part of it is the lack of quicksave. :(
I tried to be "strict". Imo DLC or multiplayer itself covers too many games. Some of the subthemes already cover those types. I like it when the range is tight. :)

Depends a bit on if the end of the month is on a week day or weekend. On a week day I will do it a bit earlier and will probably start around 8PM CEST (UTC +2), on a weekend maybe a couple of hours later. The server (for the dates when the event starts and end) it is also set to CEST although everything will switch to CET (UTC+1) by the end of October due to daylight saving nonsense. It does not refresh in October anymore (unless I actually specifically go tell it to) so it doesn't add any playtime that should be there.
And really, it is not a problem at all for me to manually fix anything after I am already done with it, you just need to let me know :)

Well we have links to SG profile with win check, which is nice and makes it faster to verify and if it is a game with achievements, one click on the achievements directs you to steam achievement page of user so you can check achievements and time played.
There is no HLBT check since I think length of a game is not so often taken into account as a game theme, so if you want to be extra nice for this theme, add a link to it's HLTB page. And if you do not have a qualifying win and use your backlog, please note so in your entry, it makes checking faster and makes me a happy slave ;)

As for my play history with the game, I tested and explored the beginning of the game for only 45 minutes and only earned one achievement for joining a faction. I believe I didn't even leave the intro part of the game that truly starts the first chapter, since I like to over search for secrets that might or might not be in games.
