Despite people wanting to live in Japan, please do understand the place is not as portrayed in the medium called anime. It's like judging America based on Hollywood movies.

Japan is actually a very expensive place to live in, with birth rates being all low and suicide rates being all high for men due to the sheer amount of stress that starting a family causes. You have to work 12 hours a day to keep up a basic living
for a medium sized family. Living alone is easier sure, but it's not walking on clouds like you believe it to be. But I am not here to tell your personal preference is wrong, just shedding some light on things.
