I agree with you about ITAD. It truly is just slow, unintuitive and just awful overall. But the service they have was unique enough to make me put up with it.

Currently checking it out, but it already looks and feels more sleek. I'll check it out some more.

EDIT 1: Good job on having the search be quicker, on having Humble and GOG integration for the wishlists and also for letting us filter through DRMs that are available. A huge deal, considering how unreliable most 3rd party sites are with providing a single DRM (whether Steam, UPlay, Origin, GOG, DRM-Free or something else).
One thing I'd add though and it's that the search engine should be able to understand that II is also 2 and vice versa. Please also add the DRM filter to the wishlist please. Although you've already proven yourself to be miles ahead of ITAD in my eyes.

Thanks for the feedback and kind words. :) Adding DRM filter on wishlist is our top priority list at the moment. We will implement this feature soon. In the meantime you can browse Deals (https://gg.deals/deals/) by DRM with filter "only wishlisted games" on and the effect should be similar :)

Thanks for the response. Gives me and probably some others the confidence that this post wasn't just some "hump it and dump it" ad and instead is a project by a human being.

Two thumbs up for working on the filter and another thumb for giving me a substitute for it.

Hopefully the Roman numeral distinction will be a thing soon as well :)

EDIT: Also, just noticed that when you click on a filter like price, then you can't disable it by clicking it again, but instead it wants you to disable it from the applied filter list. Not an important thing, but definitely a quality of life issue.

Well here's my feedback, after signing in with steam you still want my email address? Nope. I'll stick with ITAD.

How else can we send you a Price Alert by e-mail?

Permalink

You could have a bot spam the alerts on Steam if some people would prefer that.

Give me the option. No one was ever hurt by having options. By not giving me an option, I just decide to go elsewhere. I'm not saying it's the worst thing ever, just not something I want to participate in.

I guess we could ask for e-mail later once user attempts to create Alerts. We could change it. :)

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah that would work. I like the clean layout of the site and it seems rather smooth and responsive in use, but I just have no desire to hand over my email or create alerts as it's not something that is of use to me. Hence why I always think options are the best choice.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yep, never make what could be optional as mandatory since it just turns people away.
While as some people will want email alerts, others would rather just go to the website every so often to see the latest prices on their wishlisted games.

It seems to lack one feature - the ability to export and import alerts. Bonus point for supporting ITAD's format ;)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Do you mean export/import to CSV?

Permalink

Looks like the JSON format is rather specific to ITAD, so yeah, the CSV format similar to what ITAD can output will do

I took a look at the site, but think I'll stick with isthereanydeal.com - mainly because I guess it's the devil I know rather than you're specifically doing anything wrong. One thing that is annoying about isthereanydeal is that some of the games come up wrong, for example The Hex comes up as the wrong version, not the version on my wishlist so it keeps telling me it's on sale, when it's not, it's some indie game.

Isthereanydeal is on one page, which loads as you scroll down, which I find better. But the killer for me is that you can filter out sites like uplay, itch.io and origin that don't sell Steam keys but keys for their own platforms (or drm-free). I prefer to keep everything all together and I don't really want to run multiple game platforms on my PC, so I tend to ignore stuff unless it has a Steam key.

Did like the design, though. And things like counters so you can see if a deal is due to expire are a neat touch.

You can do the same thing on GG.deals! Simply head over to https://gg.deals/deals/ and use DRM filter, where you can exclude all options except Steam - http://prntscr.com/l9zziw

As for infinite load. Some people prefer that, some prefer pagination (like me). If you have infinite number of entries then it's easy to miss out on something you notised. You click somewhere else and it's gone. With pagination you will be able to find it again, for example, on page 7.

You can drop a note to ITAD when that happens. I've done it before and they fixed the wrong game info in less than 12 hours

I very rarely used ITAD due to its bad interface and because of how slow it was. GG.Deals looks pretty neat, I like the interface and features I found so far.

There is one thing I found which makes me question reliability of this website though. On GG.Deals it says that "One Way Heroics Plus" which is a DLC for "One Way Heroics" has current lowest price of 5,65€ (the full price is 5,99€). However this DLC is on 50% discount on steam with a price of 2,99€ (2,69€ through steam's bundle if you already own the base game).

I don't have time to check whether there are other inconsistencies like that, I just noticed this one so far.

This is an error. I've passed it to my programmers and they'll check what caused it and (hopefully) fix it.

Is there a way to filter out bundled (HB, Fanatical, etc.) games to only get games wich are still unbundled?

Otherwise: Beautiful design and easy to understand and use the site! :)

At this moment, there is no option to filter out bundled games.

Why do you allow singing in via Steam and then ask to create a username and password afterwards? That's not necessary and I won't be doing it. Steam login is more than good enough.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

We don't ask for password. All we ask is username (for your own convienience) and e-mail (so that we can send you Alerts you create).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, the site looks nice but I don't need another login. I've actually been unsubscribing from a lot of sites I don't go to anymore lately and I feel that I would just lose this one in the sea of other similar gaming sites I'm already a member on. Good luck with yours though. There's always room for one more on someone's list, just not mine at this time.

I think this may be something to look at making optional -- not everyone wants a separate username (especially when using the "Login with Steam" option), and not everyone wants to give their e-mail address right away.

Thanks, looks better in my opinion than ITAD, I never liked ITAD look, I used https://web.archive.org/web/20180330165600/http://www.steamsales.rhekua.com and SteamDB, shame rhekua is gone, it had nice clean old-steam ui look and not too many options just enough to get you what you need, that was my fav.

just curious, how far back does the bundle history track go? I couldn't find Spellforce Platinum as bundled while ITAD listed it as so. https://isthereanydeal.com/game/spellforceplatinumedition/info/ vs https://gg.deals/us/game/spellforce-platinum-edition/

For some reason we are missing Build a Bundle 1-5 (Groupees) in our bundle base. Since I wasn't part of staff back then, I can't say for sure what is the reason for that, sorry :)

Besides old Greenlights, and GoGo/Otaku/Other very low quality bundles, we have pretty much everything in our bundle history: every major bundle (Humble Bundle, Bundle Stars/Fanatical, Indie Gala, Groupees), and some ancient ones, which only old people remember (Indie Royale, Flying Bundle, Blink Bundle and few more)

I've found this tool very useful for finding a list of current deals, it's the first tool that I saw fit for this task. I plan on using it for other uses as well because the site has a great interface, but I do want to point out why I will still need ITAD to supplement your site

Discounts that are not the lowest are still good to know about. For example: I refused to buy GTA V until the Steam version was on sale, and it's only available directly through Steam's storefront so any other discounts would get in the way. It would be nice to exclude sites, because if GOG has the lowest price for a game, I will look for the next best discount. Also, subscribers to Humble Monthly get the additional 10% discount so it might be cheaper even if the official sale isn't the lowest price available. Maybe we could have an option to automatically take 10% off Humble Store prices? Lastly on GG.deals there is no information on bundle tiers as far as I could see.

GG :D

If it does just as good of job at finding deals as ITAD and lets me import my barter.vg wishlist (something I've never figured out how to do on ITAD) then I'd switch over in an instant.

Also, how is this site being funded? ITAD seems to make money by having its page backgrounds as advertisements from different games.

Any word on if barter.vg wishlist import will work at some point? Barter has a bunch of ways to export user wishlists (list of store urls, app IDs, game names, etc.).

I was using steamdb for sales and continue to use it but when you add other currencies i'll change it to your website. The reason why i'll use gg.deals is the design.

Also i have a suggestion when i try to turn on a store, bottom one can't be clickable. Make it clickable it'll be perfect.

Take that feedback as a bump!

Oups, thank you for reporting that bug with stores. We'll get it fixed tomorrow. As for new currencies, we're working on it. Which one would you like to see?

Also Genre, Tag, Feature tabs have the same problem. Last but not least bug is when i try to sort games by descending deal rating it is kinda messed up. Ascending has no problem though. I didn't check other types.

As you mentioned in your reply to Seminecko it is included :) I'd like to see TRY.

I really like what I am seeing here. Good job!
Question: I synced my collection with the site. Is there a setting I might have overlooked to filter "Deals" and "Games" by the games I already have in my collection? At the moment I see games I already own while browsing the deals/games. For me to really use the site, I need the Deals-section to not show me any games/app IDs I already own.
Am I missing something? :)

There is an option to hide owned games, for both Deals and Games, in "Advanced" filter:

Any addition of more collections is highly appreciated: GOG, Origin and Uplay are the three I have the most need for. But I see that you're already on working on two of those. Great stuff!
