Hi guys, i want to update my computer graphic card, but i have a limited budget... around 100€ (about 135$)

But i dont know what i should buy, an 2GB DDR3 or a 1GB DDR5 because my system is a little bit old (Quadcore 2.6h / 4Gb) so i dont if it worths the DDR5 card.

The store that i will buy the card is this one (because i have some credit there to spend) and they have the following graphic cards that match my budget

VGA ASUS R7 260 1Gb DDR5 DVI/HDMI - R7260-1GD5
VGA ASUS GTX650 DC 1GB DDR5 2XDVI/1XHDMI - GTX650-DC-1GD5
VGA ASUS GT740 OC 2GB DDR5 DVI/HDMI - GT740-OC-2GD5

They have more graphic cards here but they pass my budget

So mainly i have to decide about that 3 choices wich is the better one

Don't ever buy a DDR3. GDDR5 is much better. You should be looking at a R7 260X or something along those lines.

No, most games rely on the video card, you have a decent enough CPU. You could use more ram.

Going to a much newer video card would do wonders.

If you could get an fx6300 thats one of the cheapest cpu with great performances but then again you would need to change your motherboard to an am3+

I have an AMD FX-6300 in my current budget gaming build and I LOVE it, it's a beast and I got it quite cheap. (around $109.99USD)

I paired it with an MSI R7 250 2GB GPU and I haven't found a game in my current Steam library that I can't run on mid-ultra settings with around 45-50FPS (720p 1600x900 monitor).

I payed $749USD for my entire current setup, monitor, keyboard and mouse included!

A gtx 750 TI or non TI if you can find on your budget or an hd 7750 both are budget graphic card and are low power conumers so you shouldn't worry about a new psu and DDR 5 it is much faster than ddr 3

Go for a DDR5 based card, they are faster and it will be a little more future proof.

I have a Powercolor HD 5770 1gig card. I have had my eye on an R7 280X 2 gig card with DDR5, though by the time I can get it I might be looking at something else.

The 650 is crap, there's much better cards for the money. A r7 260x or 750ti can be found for ~100 euros and are 50-60% faster than the 650. Or a 7850 if you don't mind buying used. Upgrade the videocard first, your cpu can still handle most games ok, you'll see the most improvement with a better gpu than cpu.

Sorry, didn't realise your budget there! I would go with the R7 260 from the three choices based on this since the difference is quite huge.

I would lean towards the VGA ASUS R7 260 1Gb DDR5 DVI/HDMI - R7260-1GD5 mainly because I am not a fan of Nvidia. I have seen people have many issues with them. At one point they had released drivers that killed video cards. It was a while ago though.

Another reason why I would lean towards that card is because it has dual fans on it which will help keep it cooler.

A benchmark for 250X vs GTX650. And the 260 is even faster.

im reading some reviews ... that GT740 2GB DRR5 for that i can read it sucks ... that 2GB its a scam

"Furthermore, the frame buffer was doubled to 2GB though this will not boost its performance and can be addressed as a gimmick - marketing to lure consumers into paying more for the same product. "

so i think the best choice is the R7 260 1GB DDR5

i wanted an nvidia this time but ...

You could still pick a regular GTX750, not the Ti version. It's a good card too, and would be NVidia, if you really want it to be. :)

you should just hold off until you add more money to your budget, you are going to want to upgrade in the future anyways. why spend the money now for a lesser product.

If you want to go with gtx 650 search a little more for ti boost model which I have - nothing ground breaking but it's ddr5 2GB and it can still show some claws, especialy if you choose an OC version. Absolute minimum for now is gtx 660, preferably in the most powerful version. It can still get you on very high but without ubersampling.

You know what bro - check other shops. I have nothing against asus but there are so many better card brands. They often offer more fans, better cooling, ability to OverClock. I may be wrong but I only see there asus cards.
